I've been watching The Donna Reed Show Season 1 on DVD. In the 1st few episodes, there is no washer and dryer in the kitchen, by the back door. Then I see what looks like a set of Whirlpools...but I've never seen that console style. Since this was prolly filmed in late 1958, they could be '58 or '59 Imperial models with the oblong shaped lid release button on the front of the machine. Sharp lookin' set. Has anyone seen these, and do you have a better pic of them???? Thanks!!!!

I do know that in later years, Donna had Lady Kenmores in the kitchen. I think she had out '64 LK alphabet washer for awhile too!

Hi John. My fathers cousin in PA had one of these RCA Whirpool Imperials in her pantry off the kitchen. That oblong button up front broke, and we had to use a knife to open the lid. It was a really nice machine.

And in between, there was an O'Keefe & Merritt combo

The Kenmore set she had were 1962 models actually. They looked very much like 63 models, but the consoles were a little taller, and they had the tabs on the right front corners of the machine tops.

Have a good one,
James

I always wondered what that combo was. I knew it wasn't a Kenmore or whirlpool produced unit.
