Hey everyone, I've *finally* got round to dealing with the rest of the footage I filmed at our wonderful October 2008 Wash-In at Mike King's place. I've assembled it into a short clip for YouTube
Hope you enjoy it - be sure to watch in High Quality
And a belated thanks to Mike and everyone else for a wonderful weekend! Here's to the next one! :)

i really liked this it was great to see the Hoover line up, especially the sloping front keymatic, mine makes that squealing noise when trying to go into spin so i switched if off immediately as thought it was doing harm, is it ok? it did not seem to drive drum tho only in wash mode, i still need a door boot for it but would love to try it again
Looks like you had a great day
Well don
Richard

The Keymatic

It is a very cool looking washer. Can someone explain to me what the keys were all about
Was it just a basic washer and you could up grade different cycles?

Would love to see the Keymatic doing a washload with the pulsator working. Always fascinated me that machine - have a vague recollection of a neighbour having one back in the very early 1970's but really don't remember much about it. Would love to attend one of those wash ins - when is the next one???

We will have vids of the working keymatics shortly, the A3224 is awaiting some hoses and a final water test, it has its new boot and suspension wire so good to go...Ricky, the squeaking you hear on spin is the pulsator squeaking against the metal housing, it sems to go when filled with water & wet, or has been oiled!!!

The A3008 had micro surgery a couple of weeks ago, Dr.Fixit (Mathew) popped up and helped me put the new tub backseal on so its awaiting a water test....

AND,,,,theres more......when we had the mini meet Hoover 60th Mathew brought up a "surprise machine"...the Keymatic A3203...none of us had ever seen one....well...later I was contacted by a gentleman wanting to pass on his "working keymatic" to someone who would look after it rather than skip it....it has a tub leak, and needs a few days at the "Spar of Neil"...so here is ANOTHER Hoover a3203 Keymatic....Lol....like a number 23 bus, you dont see one then TWO come along.....here is Kitty after here first rough sanding!!!

WOW! Brilliant another one, :-))) and full marks to the previous owner for having the good sense to pass it on to you

would look good in steel finish hmmmm

Well Mike Keymatics proliferate!

Was talking to an engineer yesterday about keyplates and his brother was an engineer at Hoover and he designed the later keyplates, he also thinks he might have some tucked away, so he is going to have a look for them in the next week or so.

Ill keep you all posted

Happy Sanding Mike ;-)
