Estate sale find, I was told it was 50's, but what do you experts say? mod# 110.93830 ser# 3353

3" blower. The amazing thing is it still works. It uses some sort of glow ignitor. After ignition, the flame is weak, I'm assuming it needs some cleaning, but the motor sounds good, spins, and blows out a good amount of air.

O it's 50's all right!!! Possibly late 40's. Too bad it wasn't a Whirlpool! I've been looking for a match to my 1950 Whirlpool.

Jed -

It looks pretty similar - how about taking this one until you find the perfect match, then at that time someone else may want the dryer?

How about a picture of the 1950 whirlpool? I think there might be just one other one of those.

I think they made that dryer from 1947 all the way to 1953, it made its progression from top of the line to BOL.

Weak Heat? Please dont get excited reading this!

Since this is obviously a gas dryer, what type of gas is it connected to? Check and see if it was originally built for LP gas.If you connected it to a natural gas line, the burner would have a weak flame as the orifice for propane is smaller than for natural gas since it runs at a higher pressure usually 10 in.w.c and Natural runs at 3.5-4 in. w.c. Natural gas units come with larger orifices and different regulators in order to supply the same amount of btu's.
Hope this helps

Stevet, you are a smart cookie. But it was hooked up to NG and has no indication of LP conversion. The only way to tell is to lift up her skirts. So we'll see...

Data Plate

Check the data plate on the machine,as it had to specify the type of gas required. Otherwise if it is natural all the way, then you will have to have the gas pressure checked by a competent serviceman to determine what is wrong with the gas flow. The regulator may be stuck or inoperative.
