That Custom Imperial washer/dryer set is the one my parents had in white. At night those lighted control panels would really light up a room. Is that model(WCI-62) considered particularly rare and hard to find? |

Not so much back then, but VERY hard to come by in the last decade and a half. By the mid 80's, parts for GM Frigidaire washers (and probably dryers) skyrocketed in price and then quickly became NLA. Most owners didn't want to bother with expensive hard to find parts, plus trying to track down a tech who could even repair them, so they got tossed in favor of something new (or something else). Repairing Frigidaire washers are not for the faint of heart!

I will always like the design, advertising, verbage and artistic drawings FRIGIDAIRE used to sell their fabulous appliances!"Bring your dreams---and husband to your nearest FRIGIDAIRE dealer!" Let me tell you,had I ever decided to take my husband to my nearest FRIGIDAIRE dealer, there would have been qite a "Flair" up!

Thanks for posting those photos. Just as I remembered my parents set. You can read at night by those lighted control panels, I have never seen any brighter on any other machine. Tell us the history of how you came to own these machines. I am sure we would enjoy hearing that! |
