Does anyone have a owners manual for the above maytag or a copy I can get my hands on? I just purchased my first vintage machine. Way cool!

Christopher, this is actually a Maytag 608 washer. Sorry for the mis-information!

The Maytag "owner's manual" that my parents had on-file with their 1965/66 A206 was a simple piece of oak-tag (thick paper), 8.5" x 11.00", printed on both sides.

Don't recall a booklet or brochure of any kind.

Thanks for the update! I know they are fairly basic so I guess they did not print one then?

I dunno. I cant imagine my anal-retentive parents throwing out a detailed users' manual to keep a quick-reference sort of thing.

I'd say the most memorable and infomative thisg I recall from the instrucitons sheet would be the imrpinted "dot" on the power cord's plug of the washer. Not too clear on this but I think it was to indicate which prong on the plug was supposed to get the "hot" wire.

Although my parents had a gas dryer, I seem to recall Maytag pointing out that on Canandian electric dryers a four-wire four-prong plug and cord were required and that the ground and neutral MAY NOT share a conductor/prong). And as such, the bonding strap tying the machine's frame to the neutral wire is not allowed in Canada.

The rest to me was typical/expected fare.
