Hai guys.

found this ad. This philips washer for free in my neighbourhood so I'm going to get it if I get in touch with the owner!

I know someone in the club (guess an Irish member) has one of them or is searching for it! Can someone tell me more about this machine?

OMG Get it, get it, get it!!!!!

Wonderful vintage Philips machine.

Dont know much about them, other than it is from the '0' series (as I call them), non of which is preserved to the bset of my knowledge!

You really have to get in touch with the owner and snap it up quick.

Fingers crossed and good luck
Paul

I dont think there was a '909'....

but if anyone knows of one, be great to know for sure.

Love the 1960s and 1970s Philips.
Anyone know more about the history of their development and introduction? Be really interested to hear about it all!

cheers
paul

It's a 303

for sure, but what I wanted to know is if the tub is tilted or it's only the front that is slanted. I just send them an e-mail but hopefully I get a response, there was no phonenumber...
fingers crossed!

Dont know whether the drum is tilted or not...

looks like it should be, but whether it actually is - I dont know.

below is another piccy, again from Das-Waschmaschinen Forum, showing an advert for another Philips machine but with a side on view.

Hopefully there are some Philips experts out there, who will be able to help.

Paul

I love those philips!!! That side view pic totally reminds me of one of my modern favourites the zanussi IZ!! lol! Lookin at the pics if the tub wasn't titled the door seal would have to be really wide at the bottom to compensate for the angle!

Love philips machines and can't wait to hear/see more! Good luck with this one askomiele!!

NINA!

OMG! This is just the only one FL model of Ignis range called NINA, which became Philps after Ignis was bought from them, and it was Phonola and Fides and other brands too.

Looking at a common nowadays slant front FL like a Rex-Electrolux it seems there aren't any differences!!

GREAT!

Got response but my parents (specially my dad) went mad when I revealed it, so the whole plan is cancelled and there will by lots of bad face before I ever can get such a nice thing... :S so Targus just get it! XD

Bad luck Askomiele

Am really gutted for you - the machine is fantastic and its always gutting to get so far and have it snatched away from you.

I really really hope someone is able to step in and save it for the future - Targus.
Go on - go for it!!!!

Honestly though guys - no pressure - i am just desperate to see its saved.

Were I in Belgium, or had the foggiest idea of how to purchase stuff abroad or import it to the UK, I would snap it up myself.

Metallic blue Philips are sooooooo rare over here - possibly extinct even, as no one has one saved.

I have everything croseed for one of you to be able to save it.
Good luck and all the best
Paul

I'm sorry Askomiele to hear that your planned adoption won't work. I hope somebody will grab one of those Philips classics. As a matter of fact you only need a weekend and a van or a car to transport it!

Philips

I remember reading about the Philips machines. Some of their washers were made in the UK, I know of one model with a 1000rpm made in France. They also made a top loader, very slim version.

Regards

Paul

Ohh someone needs to save it!! they look so classy with the blue trim, the 7 & 8 series confirmed just what a simple sturdy mechanism they where, the later 80`s series where probably the best of all,IMHO, did the sloping front machines have a dryer on sale at the same time??

Paul, yes the Phillips factory was at Hipperholme, Halifax, which later was bought out by White Knight for their dryers etc....oh to have been working in that test centre!!!

We put the Electra version through its paces a few weeks ago and I had forgotten just what a vortex surge of water it makes around the door when starting to Spin Drain, I cant think of any other manufacturer who did that other than commercial machines....Cheers, Mike

I don't think those Philips frontloaders got matching dryers. Philips sold some dryers at that time, but they looked totally different. Here's a picture from the Waschmaschinen-forum.
