robert our webmaster suggested i contact larry at modern parts house in parma ohio for an impeller for my modern maid dishwaher. i made a road trip to cleveland on tues. to see his shop and meet him. i came back with a load!

he has tons of stuff! tons! anything you could want! and he knows all the model and part numbers by heart! amazing!

so here's some pics of that trip for anyone interested.

first a stop in medina ohio

right before getting to parma to pick up this beautiful speed queen wringer washer these folks gave me!

it runs great, motor wise but does leak and it's not in the pump either. could be some work but i will get it fixed eventually.

larry told me the pumps don't leak that much but the center rots out as he put it. and he def knows his stuff!

and if i need it he has a pump for it, or a seal!

this guy has got it all!

never seen so much stuff in a parts supply house! and never seen so much old stuff! he's got motors out the ying yang!
gaskets, seals, timers, rows and rows of timers! you name it!

so i would strongly suggest if you need something give him a call! i mean i never thought i'd find an impeller for the modern maid or a water bellows for my frigidaire!

they even fed me while i was there!

thanks robert for the suggestion!

and on the way back i stopped in akron

to pick up a kdi-18 from a friend. it's my first 18 model kitchenaid! he also loaded me up with lots of extra parts. his dad had an appliance repair business too.

all in all

it was a great trip and i enjoyed meeting larry and his wife and their dogs very much and had a blast rummaging around their shop all afternoon!

it's what makes appliance collecting fun! the unique people (and pets) you meet along the way!

That's a very nice KA you got there! I keeping my eyes open for a KA portable to replace my Whirlpool portable with when it goes.

Also, nice SQ wringer. The tub looks really good, somemone much have taken really good care of it.

there is a beautiful kitchenaid portable superba 16 series o

grab for around 50 bucks and have it shipped via u crate it for around 200 bucks. pump and motor parts are still being made and it would be a prized catch! stainless steel door panels too. i think bidding ends tomorrow night! check it out under "kitchansaid dishwasher" on e bay.

i thought about trying to buy it but i now have 19 kitchenaid disghwashers, i am up to my limit i think!

It would be nice

if he had the nut to a Frigidaire 1-18 agitator.

Great pictures, Peter!

You should have seen this place when some of the guys found it ten years ago - old Frigidaire parts, combo parts, on and on. It's been pretty well picked through but you've shown here there is much more to be found for those willing to make the call or the trip is even more fun.

yea

larry told me you guys pretty much cleaned him out on frigidaire parts! but i least i got water bellows and a pump seal!

my main reason for going was to get that g.e. mobile maid seal and motor! i just love that dishwasher! i'm using it everyday!

That is so good to hear! I hope it will serve you well for many years to come.
BTW thanks again for posting the numbers for Modern Parts - Gansky1 had told me about this place, but I am too ashamed to admit that I misplaced the number!
