Another 67 Kenmore portable found. In near perfect condition. The owner thought it was a pain to drag across the kitchen to use, so they used the coin-op wsshers in the condo. basement. It was only used 2 or 3 years. I hooked it up and it runs like a new washer.

3 Cycles, 2 Speeds, water temp. controlled at faucet, as it has only a single inlet valve.

I loved the BOL Kenmores

Wow - can't wait to see this. I had the (nearly) matching dryer, bought from Starvation Army when I bought my first house and the gas dryer there wouldn't light. $7 and a lot of cleaning lint from the drum mounted screen and it ran perfectly for years.

Is this different than the later BD Kenmore portable unit?

It's a beautiful machine by the way, all compliments on that little jewel!

Great portable Kenmore. Gordon/KenmoreGuy64 just found one just like this out in the Arizona graveyard.

Have a good one,
James

Hey Jeff....

That's a GREAT find. That's the one I want as well. Some of us have all the luck, don't we????

Enjoy her when you finally have her hooked up.

And also.....

Jeff:

If you decide that you don't want to keep it, let me know something, okay??? I'll take it off your hands. We'll work out a deal or something. That will be MY washer then (the Whirlpool and LG Front Loaders will be tossed aside for sure).

Don't need a dryer. I'll just use the coin operated dryers around the corner in my neigborhood.

E-Mail address is "chaskelljr2@yahoo.com" if you decide that you don't want to keep it.

Thanks.....

--Charles--

James/70series.... for the record, I found the green portable like this one in the AZ "junkyard", not Gordon. He was there with me when I picked it up to bring it home.

I so remember those in the stores when I was a kid. I liked the Whirlpool versions even better with the Super Surgilator.

Yes this portable has the large lever on the back to raise or lower the casters.
This portable is much larger then the later style, both in cabinet size and tub size. The tub is only a little smaller then the standard size washers and the agitators are the same size.

I believe, though I am not 100% certain,

that the Whirlpool versions of this size/capacity machine were/are considered "convertible" . I have never seen a
Whirlpool that didn't have water level and wash/rinse
temp selection. I recall my next door neighbor in San Francisco had a slightly newer version of the Kenmore with
the level and temp selections; it was the "Lady Kenmore"
model. Shall Revvin , jeff_ , and frontal have a contest to see who completes the "rainbow" ?

I had the same machine for a while in the '80's. Gave it to my best friend to use. It stopped spinning, and we all know where it wound up.

The machine was immaculate. The only difference with mine had to do with the lint filter. It was the older version, black plastic with a slit in it where a chrome piece came out from and then you turned that piece to lock it in. The filter was the exact same one as on my grandmother's '63 full-size Kenmore.

Wish I had that machine and my grandmother's. Oh, well.

Ron

Awesome Find!

It is showroom fresh Jeff!
Fun!
Did they have the dryer, or were they just hanging out the clothes to dry?
I bet it even smells new when running!
Thanks for the pictures!
