*LOL*

We covered this appliance already! *LOL*

It did'nt sell the first time, so seller relisted.

Vintage European washing machine which some members on the otherside of the pond have or had, at least a simliar model.

Slow spin speed, and cold fill only. Then again with over 3Kw of heating power, shouldn't take long to bring even Alaska tap water in winter up to 200F.

8 kilos? This must be the Tardis model!

definately a 1980's model

Cylinder volume is 48 cubic decimetres, so it's a 5 kg machine

Launderess, fancy that some 60's mieles (4 and 5 kg models) had a somewhat 6 KW heater ..... less than ten minutes from tap cold to boiling

My designer eyes can't be wrong
I'm 99,9999999% sure it's a 6kg machine.

So your designer eyes can read the 6kg sticker image, too? Glad I'm not the only one!

Oh, now I checked again and saw there are more pictures of it, including the sticker...

Yes, that is 6kg alright. Thomasortega, your eyes seem to be fine to me.

Well, it certainly looks like a real Bauknecht - one from before Whirlpool destroyed them.
Still, it is truly vintage and - here's the bad news - getting parts for them is enormously, tremendously, horrendously hard.
Whirlpool intentionally destroyed all inventory which was 1/10 of a nano-second outside of the required warranty period when they took over the company.

Over here, it would be worth perhaps €80 at best.

Now, that doesn't change the fact that these were really quite good machines and even if Stiftung Warrentest knocked that "6 Kilos" down to 4.5 in their reviews back then, they were wonderful washers.

And, yes, with 3.3Kw, they did heat water quiet rapidly. Actually, their special enzyme programs were designed to raise the temperature to the optimal range for enzymes of those days, hold them there for a period and then raise them to the temperature needed to activate oxygen bleach.

Used with an American diaper detergent with enzymes like Drift, I suspect this machine would probably do a brilliant job.
Of course, 500rpm isn't anything special. Clothes would come out about as they do from a good American TL running about 650rpm - the Bauknecht spin program was praised in its day for removing more water than other machines running even 150 rpm faster. It is not only how fast you spin, but how long and how you get up there that matters.

Thomas, I assumed that your 99.9999999% was from seeing the sticker. I thought it was funny that people were debating its capacity when I had already seen the sticker.

When did Whirlpool buy Bauknecht?

No Dave, I haven't seen the sticker before. The only picture I saw before posting my comment was a picture of the drum that I enlarged randomly.
