Had a busy weekend doing outside stuff for a change, but since the 'new' addition to the dishwasher collection was still in the kitchen, I figured I'd fire it up again with some real dishes. Yes, those are mixer bowls in there - I found a set of Sunbeam bowls at the Sally Ann two weeks ago and they were kinda greasy so I figured they needed the sanitizing influence of the Frigidaire Turbo-Spray!
Top rack loading is still a little foreign to me, but geez is it ever easy to load stemware!

Lower rack's a breeze!

Love that full roll-out of the lower rack! Haven't seen that since I last used the 78 Kenmore. I am a fussy type and I did rinse the plates before loading. No cigarette ash or lipstick to deal with, though!

40 minutes later...

The cycle ran through smoothly and I think it did a pretty darn good job. No rinse agent in there, but the glasses were nice and clear.

Little bit of goop accumulated in the egg cups

Not surprising but slightly annoying. The shape of these egg cup/fruit bowls are almost impossible to rack properly, to be fair.

Plates, etc nice and shiny-clean

The plates and casseroles in the lower rack look great! I washed a few small bowls in the lower rack, too, and they turned out great. Hubby says the flatware came out nicer than in my beloved 56 GE pull-out...

And I DO feel like a queen in the kitchen...

Yes, I want the crown too...
All in all, I am really happy with this dishwasher. I kinda wish I had thought about leaving space for a second built-in model in the new kitchen, but I already have a fleet of portables.
So, the Frigidaire will become 'portable' too - not sure when and how that will happen, but I'll post photos as usual!!

Paul, Glad to hear that the Frigidaire held up under the test. The racking does look easy. I love your small square brown Pyrex dish - I have one just like it. The flatware came out cleaner than in the '56 G.E. Drawer? Oh no! Happy Dishwashing with this one. Mike.

Paul, I'm intrigued by the beautiful rich tones of all that pyrex. Where di you get that?

Garage-sale find!

Those pyrex dishes were bought a garage sale when I moved out out of the family home in (dare I say it??) 1985 - they were still in the original box and like the young fool that I was, I threw it out... I'm guessing they were a late 70's set.
When I moved to my second apartment (a late 50's vintage bulding), the 50's look bug caught me and I started collecting the 'primary colours' pyrex stuff. I guess it shows, but the casseroles in the dishwasher have been stored for the last 15 years!

Paul, on the right side upper rack I noticed two "flaws" One, the little puyrex dish in the front, always made sure everything is angled toward the tube, always think of the spray coming out at an angle. The same thing goes for the glass between the two mixing bowls. At that locatoin in the rack and pefectly upside down (or perpendicular to the spray) won't always receive the best spray angle. And depending uphe glasses are loaded on the left side, one could get a send row of glasses if needbe. Just takes some practice and experimentation, but always remember, angled.

So you have this machine and a GE roll-out dishwasher to choose from? Honey, we gotta get you a Hobart! ;-)

Looks like fun to play with, I love the sounds of the spray-tube machines!

OHHH! Don't get me going...

There's a KDS-67 that's been up on a local classified ad site since February... Front load portable (not a 'convertible' to my eye) that looks great but apparently needs a new timer...
You know what kind of luck I have with timers, so I have been resisting each price drop the seller comes back with each time the ad expires....
