Duet making a squeaking noise |

When it's in the wash/rinse cycle when the drum rotates back and forth it will squeak on occasion. Yesterday it was continuously squeaking as the final spin started until it ramped up then it stopped. After the load was done that was my last load. I rotated the drum and could hear the squeaking but it has stopped now. I have the extended warranty through Whirlpool that ends in October and I don't plan on renewing it. Could this be a belt of some sort or something more major?

Of course you should get a service call and have them fix it. You paid for an extended warranty---- so use it. | ||

Actually mine says made in Germany on the door. Since I have the extended warranty anyway that's bumper to bumper isn't it? I also read somewhere if adjusting the water level screw would void my warranty. Here's my question. How the heck will they even know I adjusted it? I've since adjusted it back down.

Get the service call. Bearing failure isnt normally a squeak. I've had the top springs and teflon guides replaced on my Miele because it was squeaking when the drum changed direction, or when there was movement of the tub. A quick change out and its been silent since. | ||

I suspected
that was the case. I was reading another forum where they were talking about adjusting water levels and someone said, "be careful, that will void your warranty." I thought to myself, How the hell will they even know?" My main hesitation for calling service is the fact that it doesn't always squeak, so knowing my luck they will get here and it won't squeak and they will say nothing is wrong with it because the machine is working great otherwise. I have the rest of the summer to call. I fully intend on having it checked before the warranty goes out.
