Hi Guys

I've had a couple of requests to upload pictures of my collection to an album, so please see attached. This is pretty much most of my collection of washers and other items. I still have a couple of other pics to add which i will do when i can.

Cheers

Impressive. what is the story of Simpson; I have never seen one. Love the Kelvinators and Leonards, did they always make their own machine, or was it outsourced at some point? Kelvinator = Grand Rapids. So I love it. Tx for sharing. matt

IMHO.......the vintage Aussie appliances of the 50's and 60's rival their US counterparts when it comes to having the coolest designs....and I think it is a toss up to which of the two countries has the coolest designs .....PAT COFFEY

Leon you have a beautiful collection. Personally love the early 60's Simpsons. IMO they have some of the most beautiful panels to have ever graced an automatic.

Also love the Wilkins-Servis Maytags too! ;-)

As you know we had the '4 speed programmed' that you have as a 1966 model....

I thought these came out in 1968. I can't imagine Simpson running the model for too many years and my parents bought theirs in August of 1968.....

BTW, fantastic collection and nothing beats the sound of a fluid drive...

Fantastic collection

Hi Leon,

I just loved seeing pics of some of the machines I saw operating in the 1960's. By the age of 5 I was fascinated in washing machines and my mother's first was a Westinghouse wringer with a cast aluminium agitator. My close school friend's family bought the Simpson in Photo 1 in the late 1950's. It was the first automatic machine I have ever watched (apart from a Bendix front loader next door. Later my mother upgraded to the Whirlpool the same as your 1962 model but she bought it in 1964. Then in 1972 when they moved house she bought a Simpson fluid drive that had the same blue panel as your 1966 model but the interior of the 1968 model so they must have kept the models going for a long time. She had that for more than 25 years and servicemen always said they were the best machines made.

Thanks for igniting my memories. I look forward to seeing videos when you get the time to make them.

best wishes,

Greg
