My Whirlpool side swing door is reversible. I have it on the left side of the washer, and I reversed the door the day I got it. |

most dryers these days, at least MOL and TOL, have reversible doors. My 1997 Maytag LDG9806 does, I know. Lawrence/Maytagbear |

many dryers today are available to be reversed, just not the FL washers....I kinda stick to a TL that lifts up rather than to the side, and prefer doors of the dryer that drop down, in case I ever move I have all bases covered...not to mention the drop down door of the dryer makes it real easy to load and unload, from a TL or a FL washer....there's only 1 or 2 FL washers that can reverse....

If you like this dryer and the bottom-hinged door, Whirlpool still offers several models that pair with their traditional top load washers in the 7.0 to 7.5 cu. ft. drum with this type of door still. Or in the Kenmore, Kenmore 700 & 800 series dryers also. If you'd like a side-swing door but still Whirlppl design, check out the Maytag dryers. These are all strictly for their traiditional top loaders. when you start looking at dryers paired with the HE top load or front load washers, they're pretty much all side-swing doors. and almost all side-swing doors are reversable.

I did some looking, and a lot more dryers have reversible doors than I thought. |

The only dryer doors that are not reversable and open to the left or right are the ones on the stacked top loading laundry centers. All the others are reversable. However, the GE and the Whirlpool/Kenmore/Maytag/KitchenAids that match the Duet style front loaders, Have to have their doors dissasembled in order for it to fit right. If I remember correctly, the GE's have to have that done too.As a salesman/repairman at the old Maytag store I worked,I got numerous dryers in just to have their doors reversed. I would charge $25/each and have it done within 20 minutes. My first experience in reversing the Duets caused me to put lots of change in my cuss bank!! LOL The FRIGIDAIRES ,and all the models they subsidise, are a sinch!I can have them done in around 10 minutes. The GE and Whirlpools are about that fast too.I heard that Daewoo has a new line of HE washers and matching dryers that are both equiped with reversable doors. I saw them on line under the Crosley label.
