We had two Maytag washers show up in the haulaways today. Not what I'm looking for in my collection but still salvageable...

This is a A107 circa 1970

Here's the other one. Maybe I can find them a home, otherwise I'll part them out...

KA407 about the same age...

What's the old dryer behind the 407?

You guys don't miss much, do you?

I was telling Kevin how I was wondering how long it'd take for one of you sharp eyed guys to see that... LOL!

That is a DE500 dryer. I found that by the side of the road one day and 'liberated' it. BUT before you think 'Good score!', who ever had it was not gentle with her. The wiring is all mis-connected or off, the capacitor on the electronic dry module was cut out and the cabinette is needing serious dent removal/tlc. Obviously someone figured they'd fix the dryer since thay had a 50/50% chance of grabbing the screwdriver at the right end... The chrome strip around the front is severely dented and would probably have to be replaced. It still has the METAL lint filter disc. It would match the A300 washer I have but that one is kind of a basket case as well. I may use the DE500 as a parts donor for either my 641c or CDE906 dryers as the running gear appears to be ok and shares the same sensor system in the drum as they do.

How soon could you?

redcarpetdrew's profile picture
Earl, If you REALLY want it and were able to make arrangements to come get the KA-407 in the >somewhat< near future, I COULD hide her at my house in the side yard for a little while... She'd be free to you. Let me know soon! I can post pictures of the washer in greater detail if needed.
