I will be staying in a different home for a few weeks. During my tour, I found out that the place comes equipped with a vintage GE dryer. I took some photos which may interest some here. Again, they may not. Time will tell.

Unforunately, I don't know the model--the photo of the ID plate didn't turn out. When I see the dryer again, I'll have to retake the photo or copy the number manually.

First photo (not the best, sigh) shows the whole dryer:

Here are the controls. There is a light, which was on when this was taken.

Controls: Buttons set cycle and include the start button. Knob roughly in middle is signal off/on. The timer is on the far right.

My favorite--dryer controls lit up in otherwise dark room.

Sorry the photos didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped--I was in a bit of a rush, and didn't have a computer there to preview to see if things worked or didn't work.

It'll be interesting using this dryer. It'll be the first time I've ever used something other than Whirlpool/Kenmore.

Very cool! I like the fact that is lights up AND that it has a foot pedal to open the door!

I see that it says "Versatronic" on it. My friend Mike has a Versatronic set (below) and if I remember correctly HIS is from 1969 (I think). So the dryer in your photos should be late 60's also. Is there a matching washer or do they have something else?

That's a nice set in the photo above!

As for the dryer I posted, I wish it had a matching washer. The washer is a total mis-match. It's not a matching GE, it's not even matching era, it's not even a match for the probable quality of the dryer. No, it's a--shudder!--WCI Frigidaire.
