The pump on my Fisher Paykel GWL11 washer went a couple weeks ago and I just got around to replacing it today when I finally had some spare time to stop by the parts store! What I didn't expect was that even though the washer is from New Zealand, the pump doesn't say "made in New Zealand", nor "made in China", but rather, "made in France"... I think that's the first item I have seen that was made in France!

Interesting. I know absolutely nothing about those FP machines, but I assume it is an electric pump?

It is an electric pump, very very quiet in comparison to all the other pumps that have their own motor in today's machines... The impeller is about an inch in diameter but still drains as fast as a BD Whirlpool!

That is interesting... The GE Harmony has an electric pump, and it is by far the noisiest part of the machine.

The Calypso has an electric pump, the only way you know it's working is you can hear the water being pushed down the drain, then a very pronouced straw sucking sound. It's really cool.
