I'm not sure if the user is a member on here?... But I've just found a video on youtube of a Philips completing its spin drain! WhooHoo I used to have a Philips - Series 90 a long time ago and I haven't seen this in years!! I'm sure the distribution on my old Philips was a lot faster than this so the water would spray through between the rubber seal and the drum a lot more forcefully than in this video. It would spray down from the top of the door quite a lot too. The only other real difference is after draining it would rocket straight up to 800rpm for 2mins before going to 1000rpm Hope you enjoy!! Thanks for the link to that video. This is indeed the more modern style spin drain. The older style was indeed more forceful and only went into spin when there was water in the drum. The newer ones could do a spin without water too. I have a Philips AWB119, a toploader that has the older spind drain type too. Wiljan made a video of it a while ago. Hi Adam yes I think you remember the older type of spin drain where the drum actually does start spinning up the revs full of water...it real fun to see and one that would make any other machine implode!!! its just like a vortex whirlpool of water over the door glass!!! the machine in the vid is slightly faster than a normal distribution!!! |

Hi Mike, Yeah that pic looks similar to mine. Was probably from around the same time! My parents found the brochure for it the other day! foraloysius; I remember it wouldn't spin either if you turned the dial to the position of the spin and pulled it out to start. It would just static drain. Liam, It totally forgotten about the front bulging in and out, lol!! Yeah mine did that too |
