Hello all

I got my new dishwasher about 10 days ago, internet was messing up so couldn't post on aw.org till today.

I use it every day, and even daily wash gives dry dishes in 1 hour 5 mins and they're sparkling even with 12 plates on bottom rack, 12 mugs and couple a bowls on upper rack plus 6 tumblers. I've used normal, daily and speed 25 which is really quick n effective when in a hurry.

I'll post pics once i've got them.

This model is TOL and 12 programs, its really good, better than neighbours zanussi and aunts bosch from what she saw when eatin at mine. BTW_ she has bosch logixx and other aunt has zanussi timeline.

ahhh.... i also was thinking that but wasn't sure so didn't say anything.

It works really well, its really silent too. i loaded it nearly full and putit on 1 hour 5 mins (daily 60) with finish tabs, it worked great and they were soiled but eveything was sparkling and dry, even plastcis.

It does indeed look very Bosch, especially the bottom basket, cutlery basket, filters, spray arm and associated feed pipe-work.

Great machine

Hey
I'm a big fan of hotpoint --even the Indesit ones lol
I own a hotpoint FDW80g
I really do drive this machine into the ground
As a couple of people no I have a big family so all appliences are always on
Owned my dishwasher for 4 years and has been suberb
I have had hotpoint out a few times to fit a new upper rack ring nut seal which conects the spray arm pipe to the back of the machine.
Engineer says it is due to using the intensive cycle all the time and over using.. I disagree.lol
My question is : is the seal still in the new models and how is the filter as the one on mine does let small bits of food into the pump which I have had to take apart and clean.
And does the normal cycle have a cold prewash.
Can u tell me way the quick wash constists.
I ave been wanting this model since they came out but just have not got the time to go out and find out all the things I need to no lol
Cheers Amar

I have 6 in my house so thats pretty busy too, with grandparents +2 sometimes then guests as we are always happy for guests. LoL

My sparay arm seal seems different to the fdw80 as my cosins neighbour has white one, this one is more durable i'd say. The filter is too good because it doesn't even ,et dust through, i know that because i washed my glass display shelf as it was a bit dusty.

The daily 60 is a main wash then a 6 min rinse or less, then final 20 mins rinse. (if you press tabs, then its 1 hour 5 mins, instead of 1 hour)

The other quick wash is more for lightly soiled as its only 25 mins but does a good job, used it yesterday morning- just to check it out. That takes 25 mins and 35 with tabs. Thats just a main wash and rinse.

Hope it helps, morre questions welcomed.

BTW- I wanted a fdw80 graphite when it came out, its got 8 programs right?
mines got 12, so maybe its good that i waited as dishwashers last very long with me. As the old DF31 is at grans now, still fully working without repairs etc.

Nice machine there! Im still unsure about Silver / Graphite appliances. Im my mind appliances should be white but I guess im just not "Moving with the times". It does look good though.

We have a Silver / Graphite chest freezer in the garage and ive always been unsure about it but we couldn't get white. Saying that though I think if all appliances are the same colour regardless of what it is then its a great look.

we had white forever before, but now everything is going grpahite with the worktop, hotpoint ultima fridge/freezer 2 metres tall and 60cm wide. Hotpoint ultima dishwasher graphite too and silver sharp microwave etc.

Only washer is white but its not in kitchen so any colour works, its in utility room/basement.

I think thats where the comparison with bosch ends, with the looks. It might last as lons as a bosch but I would be very supprised.
good luck anyway. . .

I agree - I've always felt appliances should be white. However, my brother has just got a new kitchen and bought a new washer, dryer, dishwasher and fridge freezer (all Zanussi apart from the fridge) and they look very snazzy. But it wouldn't be my first choice. Having said that, i do like the old almond Hotpoints and does anyone remember the green Creda's? They were funky lol

My mum has the ariston version of this

It's THE WORST dishwasher I have ever seen or had the misfourtune of using. So awkward to load, so flimsy, so cheaply made. The kickplate falls off if you so much as look at it and its got huge dents in the front from where people have bumped into it.

The tub seal went at a year old, it's bascally just the same stuff they use as bathroom sealent.

My Nana's slimline Hotpoint has just gone at a year old too, computer board's blown.

Why are these on the market when Beko make a MUCH better product for less?

It's the same with the washers. Give me a Beko over any Indesit/Hotpoint or Hoover/Candy, they're not worth the parts they're made of.

Rant over.

Matt

this kickplate is stuck to the actual machines bottom base, its different on my machine. Its in the kitchen n has had bashing with trainers/shoes and its fine. Its really easy to load, my mum can do it and she can never load a dishwasher, even bosch, zanussi etc.

Mines brand new so no dents or bumps etc.

Another thing

The metal on the front is paper thin, so it will dent at the drop of a hat. The plastics make the ageing brittle fascias of 80/90s Hotpoint washers feel strong and sturdy.

I guess these machine cover the 90% of consumers who are only interested in a dishwasher than looks pretty and has lots of "bells and whistles". Most people will replace them as soon as they get a new kitchen, which chances are is so often that even one of these machines won't have the chance to go wrong.

*sighs*

Matt

Its isn't that thin, n i have banged my leg into the metal but so far no dents. N i hope it stays like that. BTW- looks dont matter to me but the performance does.

I really really like your new diswasher, I had a basic indesit dishwasher a couple of years ago and LOVED it. It performed so well, it wasnt the quietest but it cleaned perfectly, never broke down and could fit in very decent sized loads.

We now have a stainless steel Siemens dishwasher, however the Indesit diswasher is still working very well at one of my mums friends, being used twice a day MINIMUM.

I wish you all the best with your new dishwasher, I know how exciting it is to get a new appliance!
xx

Get yourself a second hand 90s Hotpoint dishwasher. Solid Bosch design and unbeatable reliability. Sure, the new ones may look the part, but if the internals aren't up to the job it's about as good as a tin of rotten beans. Shame on you Indesit for sticking the Hotpoint badge on your shoddy products.

Tom.

Actually, Matt has a point concerning dents.

Look at the first photo that 'Dyson2Drums' posted.

Above the middle box of detergent(50% Extra Free), approximately six inches above that box on the front of the door, one can spy a dent, where the light is reflected at different angles, giving shadow where there should be none.

It may be a small dent, but it is a dent nevertheless.

As for leaky tubs, this happened to my sister's first Ariston and was written off.

As for dodgy plastic in the control fascia, this occurred in sister's current Ariston ( a screw fell out and couldn't be replaced, due to the plastic falling apart).

It should be noted that crumbling fascias also affected mid-Nineties Zanussi dishwashers.

It looks like its a dent in pic but not when u look at actual machine. I know its not a miele but its really good at performance and its really quiet. quieter than some miele's as stated on reports on sound/noise.

BTW_ I'd love a miele! (dream) LoL

Mr Dyson

If you are very happy with your dishwasher then that's all that matters.

People buy different dishwashers and washers for many different reasons.

So what if it's something "you" wouldn't personally buy. It's no reason to slag his machine off. He is happy with it and that's good enough for me.

Sorry if I came across as trying to slag his dishwasher off

I guess on the plus side they do wash rinse and dry perfectly well, and are easier to load and perform better than Zanussi made dishwashers from my experience.

They just don't seem to last very long and are easily damaged cosmetically.

Matt

Matt I wasn't getting at you personally.

The "you" was meant as a general term.

It's just I get annoyed as it seems a lot of people seem to quick to slag other peoples machines off without knowing any of the reasons why they were purchased. Washers etc are all purchased for different reasons and I feel it's unfair when someone is happy with what they have purchased for people to slag them off.

I agree Mark I thought poeple were being a bit Full On with their critisms, the guy has chosen his machine for his reasons.

Christ knows i can give a good rant about modern appliances but i think it is best to say nothing if you have nothing positive to say.

Gary
Ps And whilst we are on the subject whats that heap of shite your kneeling in front off :-)))

Thanks Mark.

I always try to think positively if someone has something new, or good which they bought willingly. BTW_ I love your creda.

And Tom, you're not wrong at all, the industry is going downhill but each brand except miele but thats costly.

thanks everyone.
take care
