WHat brand of toilet paper do you all use? Are you in favor of those that are made with recycled fibers?

Scottissue/Costco

The pastel colors of Scottissue (green, blue, & pink )are not available at all stores, so i get them when i can; but i also like costco brand, so i alternate between them.

You know, variety!!!

Whatever is cheapest in the 3 ply form. I swear my work uses waxy 1/2 ply toilet paper. I fight back by using 1/2 the roll and fold it 4 times for each wipe, lol.

Haven't seen White Cloud in close to a decade here, it's now Charmin. I used to like the Charmin with Aloe and E but they changed the formula and now I hate it, have to try Cottenelle.

Regardless of what you use you might want to consider one of these:

At home I use Charmin nice and soft. At work they use the recycled toilet paper. I can't remember what brand, but I don't like it. Its not that thick so have to use more than double of a regular roll and its also rough.

such a lovely topic really.....

BUTT, we tend to use Aldi toilet tissue. It's quite soft and even though not 'THICK' as some expensive tissue, I've never had a 'breakthrough'. Now given it is 12 rolls for $3.99, it's also very good value.

I use the Costco house brand, Kirkland or whatever. It's a good balance between softness and strength.

But then there's nothing quite like a hand held shower massage strategically aimed ;-). After the TP, of course.

Works fine...it still wipes ya bum!

We used to use Charmin, but our neighbor had to have their drain roto rootered and the service guy told them to quit using Charmin. Gobs and gobs of it had plugged their pipes up. He's seen this many times before.

So we switched to Angel Soft. Seems to work fine.

I hate the TP you usually see in airports. Those tiny little scraps of paper that are dispensed one by one. Or the rolls you have which fall apart in your hands before you can "apply" it.

Scott tissue in colors!

I have called the Scott tissue people, and no one in Washington State carries Scott in colors. K-Mart did for about a year in 2007 -2008, but they stopped. When I asked them about it, they said it was no longer made. I have tried to get retailers to order it for me, but they all say it is no longer made. Not according to Scott Tissue! Would any of you out there be willing to send me some if I paid you for your time and shipping, etc.? I don't know what the hell is wrong with Washington State, but it's ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!

But I LIKE the stuff...

My father used to call Scott toilet paper "SKATA paper"- (s**t-paper). Take it as you may.

There was an interesting supermarket near the Neptune diner (well-known "landmark" in Astoria Queens). By the end of the Grand Central Parkway @ the foot of the Tri-borough bridge (now RFK Bridge) and under the "el".

SCATUROS- (is there supposed to be a double consonant in there?) In the Greek ghetto. OH MY! We used to say their motto/slogan was "No.2 & No.1 all wrapped up in one!" It was such a faux-pas my cousin who was 7 y.o. at the time was appalled and laughing at the same time.

Sudsmaster I love the way you think. I used a bidet once and I spent alot of time on it. My ex was wondering what was taking me so long and I didnt even hear him ask the question. I was in another world. If I had one here I would never have to leave the bathroom since that would be my fave thing in it. I know TMI but when you combine a blast of water pressure and jets so perfectly aimed and it can put the eyes in the back of my head...well you get the idea...just thinking of it gets me all moist.
Anyways we are a Charmin Mega Roll household.

Price Rules

For me, it's the cheapest 2-ply I can find (usually White Cloud, Angel Soft or Kroger's house brand). I've tried Charmin Ultra--it's soft but it doesn't dissolve well.
The best TP I've found is Quilted Northern 3-ply; I'll stock up when it goes on sale again.

We're a Kleenex Cottonelle Double Length household here.

A thinner toilet paper, but its never broken through. When it comes on sale, we get the equivilent of 8 rolls for $5.99.

Michaels Mum insists on using 3ply toilet paper and I swear its like wiping ones behind with printer paper, but without the paper cuts.

I use either Target or Ralphs grocery store store brand. I think they're pretty much the same as quilted Northern though. Name brand stuff is way too expensive.

That said, in the paper family or food or household products at large, paper towels (Viva) is one of few things in the world I buy where I have a very strong brand loyalty/preference, so go figure.

Well, the purpose of the handheld shower massage is - and I hope this isn't TMI - it's the only way, outside of a long bath, to get really clean down there, IMHO. TP just kind of, well, smears it around. For years I was quite squeamish about such things until I figured what the heck it's just another part of my body that needs upkeep like any other part.

A bidet would be a tad more convenient - esp when one must dump and go fully dressed - but it would be a major plumbing expense to have one installed in one's home, at least in the USA.

Decent looking stuff is on offer at a good price.

Charmin is good but wont pay proper price for it!- my limit is 25p/40c a roll, that goes for pretty much whatever I end up with lol.

Currently on Nicky quilted from Netto- its perfectly acceptable with no "break through" moments and is only £1.99 for 12 rolls at the mo- I have 3 dozen in store lol :) :)

Bidets

Worked in a plumbing supply showroom at one time, and we had a couple bidets on display. It was interesting to hear customers comments about them - evidently many had never seen one before. Some thought they were lavatories for children or urinals, and one person thought they were built-in fish bowls. The funniest thing I heard though, was when a rather crude woman was explaining its function to the friend that accompanied her. She spoke loudly and a little girl who heard her then remarked to her mother that the fixture was a bathtub for cats. Well it is about the right size.

Scott paper is rough, my daughter dislikes the toilet paper burns she gets, and I felt sorry for my store brand (Kroger) equivalent failing to sell with enough surplus rolls in abundance that I bought a pack just for it to notoriously smear everything all over my behind...

I kept a roll of the good stuff on top of the toilet tank for the Heavy Use until all that cheap inferior stuff finally ran out then never again ever bought....

Funny how Scott was te inventor of toiletpaper, yetlook how much the competition improvedso much making their lines much more soft and absorbent,,,

Well, since I last posted over 4,000 days ago (2009?) I saw a bidet seat at Costco and got one.

Relatively easy DIY install, and works relatively well. I would prefer a stronger spray but patience is rewarded.

A plus, besides being more clean, is that TP usage has plummeted. It's only used to sop up any remaining water and check to make sure, er, that the bidet did its job.

They aren't cheap - between $200 and $300, but IMHO well worth it.

I have read that some drill out the jets for more flow. I'm thinking about it.

That's one of the things i miss in the usa...

BIDETS... real bidets, standalone, next to the toilet, with pressure enough to make Karcher envy.

Strangely, the shower head in my first "home" in the USA (extended stay america in Dallas) had a Waterpark shower had that was awful. It literally had 3 series of 3 holes that pulsed exactly like my bidet in brazil. It was somewhat similar to the "turbo nozzle" on a karcher pressure washer.

Showering with that was pathetic. 5 minutes to rinse a bald head.

Back to bided... theres nothing better than a REAL bidet to make sure you're REALLY clean.

I've never used a bidet. Given the current isolation/lockdown I wonder if I'd ever leave the bathroom. Another practical problem would be the fact that many/most bathrooms in the US don't have space to put one if one wanted to renovate.

We had a bidet in the house we lived until I was 15. It had a fountain sprayer in the center. Due to calcium build up the water could spray very high, if you turned the tap on full, it could reach the ceiling. After using it, you could flush it by letting water run along the walls, just like a toilet.

Thats the average bidet in brazil.
At home my bidet sprayer was so strong that if I was a cartoon, I could probably have water coming out of my ears like a bizarre fountain.

Good thing is it REALLY cleans LOL.

After using it you feel "Karcherized"
