1st spin

The machine does a static 1st rinse, followed by 1050rpm spin with spray rinse. I am afraid the spray rinse didn't show up on the pics. Was amazed at the lint that came off a small load of towels!

Looks great! It's a shame there is no one in the local area to me to have meets with, being in East Anglia means i'm kinda out of the way, lol.

I used to have a dream where i had every automatic washing machine i had ever wanted to play around with infront of me and i could touch them, select a cycle but there was always some reason why the machine wouldnt go so i never got to see them working....i fully appreciate how weird that makes me sound but i think a meet would be a dream come true and i would be so busy just watching the machines at work that i'd be completely useless conversation

I must admit it was a weird experiance and took me a while to get my head round the fact that I could talk about laundry with out the other person rollong their eyes and yawning!! It was a bit like "coming out " all over again!!!

Alas T/L machines are no longer made in the UK as far as I know.

Yea the Hotpoint is a suberb machine, Mark is a lucky man! He very kindly said anytime I want to pop round and wash a load in it I could......something he may live to regret....lol!!

yes surreal experience

Hi Paul,

glad you had such a great time, you come away back to everyday life thinking did all that really happen, and may I add your machines look great too Mark. Funny it wasn't till I met up with Matchboxpaul I even knew any washing machine model numbers, I knew the machines inside and out but never thought about that side of things, so I'm slowly getting to know my A3310s from my T5044s lol.

Yes very like the first time you talked to another Gay man, everything is just so exciting and easy going, I know distance is often an obstical but it's always worth making the effort to meet up with other washer friends if you get the chance, theres a lot of us about.

I remember a few years ago now going to meet someone who I knew loves washing machines, I was so excited on the way, I was like a child on christmas morning, and when I got there and the hoovermatic was at the sink ready for action , I don't know how I didn't pass out with happiness.

Deffinatly Its a great thing to have a few of your favourite machines, but the real fun comes when you can meet up and share them with each other. I suppose saying that if anyones passing through south wales and fancies a chat/wash get in touch.

Hi Pedro, your dreams are definatly not odd, I have many recurring dreams, one I can share lol, Its bin day and as i turn the corner someone is clearing a house and in the street are a selection of electricals I've always wanted and never found, washers vacs mowers etc, don't know which to go for first, I get to the point of actually touching an item and I wake up, I'm then really peeved as these dreams seem so vivid at the time it's hard to believe they are not real.

In terms of meeting people, perhaps if your travelling round the country at any time, maybe put up a thread asking if anyone is in that area to meet up for a drink and a chat, just as a suggestion. Why not a weekend break with an alteria motive lol.

One last thought, once you've met other washer friends, every time you do some laundry or see a classsic appliance you real feel part of some something bigger, and think what machines may be in use at that time, several of us could all be suds returning at the same time lol. Oh well sentimental old me.

Have a great sunday

Mathew

I can totally understand your excitement at meeting up with someone who speaks the same language..........mindblowing.
And to be near such excellent machines and then to use them.......is too great for words.

Mark
You cetainly have saved the nicest machines, the Hotpoint toploader is my favourite Hotpoint and particularly the 1509, plus of course your beautiful A3060/D6142.........and of course the trusty Creda.........I think it is great that these events happen

Mat
like when i met you for the first time, there wasnt enough time to talk about machines well much the same for the second and third times.........and of course then Paul & Rob.... came.......same again...........there is so much to this fascination

Christ if ever all met up it would be bedlam and the local power suppliers and water company would notice extremely heavy demand!

So congrats Mark and best wishes to you Paul ........it sounds like you had a bloody good day like I have had with Others from this group

Gary

Hi Guys

I have finally replied! (today turned out busier than expected).

Firstly want to say thanks for coming over Paul. It was great to meet you in person and I feel I have made a great new friend. It took a while to ajust to being able to talk about machines constantly and like you say not have the other person look blank and wondering what on earth you are going on about. There were a few times I was thinking "I hope he is not bored" and remember checking with you that I wasn't going on too much..lol

What fun we had using the machines. I never thought I would have someone in the garage with me enjoying just watching them as much as I do. (Its usually just me sitting in my chair with a cuppa and a fag..lol). The time just flew past!

Hi Matthew / Gary - Thanks for your comments. I feel I have made a good choice with the machines I have kept for my collection. It's funny but I have had machines come and go but the ones I now have left are machines that I have never though about parting with. I feel this with my new Creda dryer also. They just feel part of me and id be lost without them. I still currently have the machines I sold but as I no longer own them I have distanced myself from them and am happy for them to go to their new home.

It was quite an emotional day for me feeling connected with someone else who is a "washer nut".

So once again thanks Paul for coming over to visit.

And Paul I meant my offer. Whenever you want to come over and use the 1509 you will always be welcome.

Mark
xx
