Instead of scraping paint off the front porch as I should have been doing, I've been doing some quick work on the 1967 Frigidaire Custom Imperial washer I brought home from Tulsa last summer. It didn't need a whole lot to get it running again, it's not fully restored of course, still a couple of drips but it is running pretty well. Then, on the way home from a few errands tonight, we found a GM Frigidaire Skinny-Mini - in lovely avocado so together with what we already have here and the pulsamatic washer Robert is bringing down, we'll be able to see every GM Frigidaire washer design running for the convention - a first! Unimatic, Pulsamatic, Multimatic, Rollermatic (and the 1-18, a variation of the rollermatic) and now the Syncro-Swing mechanism (skinny-mini) - all in one place!!

And for the final tidbit tonight, Louis (foraloysis) met a reporter, Paul Roggema who writes for a Dutch magazine and Appliance magazine in the US a few weeks ago and they talked about our convention/gathering. Paul thought he might like to cover the story while he was in the states. I got an email from him today and he's planning on attending!! International press coverage for our little washer hobby - isn't that cool?? I'm also going to contact a friend of mine that produces the news for the local NBC station so if we're lucky, they may do a story on us as well. We'll have to fight off the paparzzi! |

Brent, wouldn't it be great if the next "all design under one roof" would be Lady Kenmore Combo Washer/Dryers!!!!! Involves the late 1950s wide cabinet version, then the narrower cabinet version with the different control panels up until 1965 and werre pretty much similar after 1968 or 1969 until its end.

I will have to save that thought for later Bob! My brain cells are overloaded from what we will be seeing this coming weekend! I will keep that thought for later. Brent |
