I think the pcb is going on my Zanussi as i keep getting E90 coming up on my washer, whenever i come to switch the machine on, i usually get the - - - three dashes in the time remaining bubble

but recently i turn it on and for about 5 seconds theres nothing in the display, or no lights, then E90 flashes up

i've read that E90 means a fault with the electronic.

This machine is 8 years old, so its probably had a good run

I told myself i would never get a brand new machine to replace it, so i guess i'm going to get a second hand reconditioned machine

I reckon I'll probably get an old Hoover, Aeg, Zanussi or Tricity Bendix.

It could just be that one of the interconnectors between the boards has got corrosion. Have you tried unplugging connectors and putting them back again?

I've had my Zanussi since October 2001

It still works, i just have to give the control panel a punch, to get the three dashes up so i can set the machine

Like Rolls_rapide said, i also wonder if it's more of a connection issue than the actual PCB, particularly as you have to punch the control panel to get a response.

Id have thought that if the PCB was totally knackered, it wouldn't change its mind regardless of how many times you hit it.

Also, i think the intimittent nature of the problem often means a connection problem on other computer based things, such as car electronics, so i'd give the connections a close look at.

Seems a shame to let it go if it's something simple. I dare say there are PCBs for sale online aswell, but ive no idea of cost, possibly too expensive to be worth it.

I have no idea how to get inside the machine and have a look but it doesn't do it all the time,

i've kept the orange on/off button pressed in and turned it off at the wall, maybe this will help, i think the on/off button is dodgy

Its annoying they don't teach appliances repairs at School - could save us a fortune!

Im abit anxious about paying £59 call out to my machine, im sure if i had a basic idea, id be able to figure it out!

I guess youre not keen to get it repaired incase other parts are also starting to wear? Could become a money pit, etc?
