Where would the serial number for a Frigidaire Filtrmatic be located ??? I'm trying to find what year my machine was made. 1952,1953, or 1954 ??? Thanks for your input.
Bob

If you pull the Filtrator cartridge out of the machine, the data plate is located on the top portion of the frame/cabinet, closest to the dryer door (between the door and the cartridge).

I've always wondered how you can convert the serial number to year or month, similar to what you can do with a Maytag. Anyone here know if that is possible?

The TR-60 came out in 1952, if you have a TR-60-2 it would be 1953 to 1954.

While the TR-60's may be called Filtramatics, they'll always be a Filtrator to me ;-)

Thanks Ben for the info. I am also having a thermostat problem with this dryer. The heating element never shuts off
What would be the "fix" for this problem - Thanks

I don't have repair documentation on me at the moment, but the high limit thermostat should open if it runs too hot (guessing around 170/180 ish).

When it has been running for about 5-10 minutes, do you hear the thermostat click when you adjust the dial? Typically I run the Filtrator at Medium and adjust higher or lower depending on what is being dried. When it approaches the set temp you should be able to hear it click when you adjust the dial.

Ben:
When you turn the temp. dial I don't hear any "click" at all.
Any ideas on what to do - Should I take the switch apart and look inside for a problem ??? Thanks for the input.
