So after the seller gets up off the floor from laughing at the notion of some nut job in Montreal wanting to buy this, I will see if they answer me!! Ya never know...

I have that machine. Bought it in 1969. Mine has the maple butcher block top. It is currently in my kitchen, but have plans for moving it into the studio and adding a Plexiglas door to show off the rotorack. Just last night, was talking about it. When the was cycle was over, I would open the door, give the rotorack a good spin to throw the water off the tops of the glasses. Then I'd close the door and let the dry cycle finish. The model I have has the fan forced drying, too.

That sounds like a neat idea! If I get this one I may just have to copy that one!!
I always liked the fan-forced drying in the older Kenmores. The avocado 77 dishwasher I have has this, too.

My mom had the under-counter version in coppertone, it was her first dishwasher ever, and I was about ten. We used to do the same thing at the start of the dry cycle, steve1-18...we'd open the door, letting out some steam, turn over any of the lightweight stuff that had flipped and collected water, and give the rack a good spin, then let it finish drying. I would also sneak peeks at it while it was washing, to see the thing spin. I remember I really liked the sound of the water hitting the tub when I'd close the door and start it back up. Groovy dishwashers all the way.

I have that machine

Steve, in a way you have this machine. The model dealing with hre is teh next model down from yours. Differences are pretty much the control panel. The buttons here are avocado colored. Yours are silver colored. The model here has a panel light for water heat delay for the sani wash boosted final rinse and a litttle red idiot light over the timer knob. Yours has water temp lights for cool, normal, delay, and sani as well as fully-lit light behind timer. Friends in Houston had this model and we had Steve's model at our lake house.

Gotta be Gone by August 31!!!

turquoisedude's profile picture
The seller got back to me, but they have to have this machine out by August 31st due to an upcoming move... It will go to the crusher after that!!
There is no way I can jump on this that fast - is anyone in the area able to take advantage of this nifty Roto-Rack??
Better still, anyone out there willing to pick it up and keep it for a couple of weeks till I could get there to pick it up??
SIGH - timing is everything and sometimes it just stinks...

So the seller got back to me - the dishwasher has to be out the door by August 31st because they are moving. If no buyer is found it goes to the crusher! NOOOOOOOOO!!!
I can't possibly get down there in time, so if anyone else in the area can grab this PLEEEEEEZE do!
Or if anyone is willing to pick it up and store it for a couple of weeks till I could get it... Didn't want to push my luck, but ya have to ask, right?!?!?

Of course if anyone was willing to pick it up and store it for a couple of weeks until I could get down there, that would be even better... Nervy of me, but I had to ask!!

Bob, What a memory you have! Remember the modification I made to the machine. The Sani-wash cycle delayed the last rinse to 150 degrees. I altered the cam in the timer and added the temperature delay to the second wash as well so it was truly a SANI-WASH.
