While I think the Halo-of-Heat chime is nice on my DG906, the machine is located in my cellar and hard to hear upstairs.

Does anyone think there is a way to put a bell(low volt) upstairs and a wire down to the solenoid that rings the bell when the wash is dry?

It would be nice to have a remote signal, without cobbing up the appliance and ruining it's design integrity.

Phil

Why not use a two-way walky talky. We had this issue when we had a house with the laundry downstairs all unto itself and everything else was upstairs. Never missed the washer giong OOB or the dryer buzzing when finished.

Cheap, available anywhere and no mods to that piece of history you're taking care of for future generations!

A baby monitor, eh? I suppose babies do work pretty cheap. The darn things tend to nap a lot, though. I'd be concerned it wouldn't be awake to yell when the clothes are dry.

And not only do you get to hear other parts of your own home, but you get to listen in on families in the area. How exciting (eyes roll!). OTOH, they get to listen to you!

Of course one could set an ordinary wind-up kitchen timer for an hour. Much of the time this will synchronize with the dryer.

With an extended cool-down in play, you'd have a greater window of intecepting the dry load whilst it is still moving about in the drum. Does you model have one?
