My mom got that same exact gas dryer and the matching washer when she and my dad moved into their first house in Springfield Va in the fall of 1963. The dryer then moved with us to Vienna Va. when I was a baby in 1976 and was replaced by a 1979 Whirlpool Imperial Seventy Dryer....Revin Kevin can you save that dryer...please.....PAT COFFEY

I'm tempted if it's actually 45 years old

I have a similar '63 model 600. This is one step above with a modulating burner for the soft heat. This should also be a high input/high speed dryer, which I highly recommend--30 min big towel loads, no kidding. One of the best dryers I have used.

....has this very dryer in the electric version. It was installed in her house when it was built and she bought it with her house in 1987.

To my knowledge, it has had two repairs in its lifetime and last time I was there, it was still going and doing a beautiful job.

it seems like dryers are not as collectible as washers and gas is less than electric

Each item is as collectible as the individual considers it to be. I like the Calypsos that many consider to be abominations.
