There has been some discussion of them here before. (US) I did a plan for a friends super-small condo kitchen, and I remember that at the time the Equator combo was offered in both condensing and vented versions. |

In 1963,we went to Sears for a new washing machine and left becoming the proud owners of a new 1964 Sears lady Kenmore gas washer dryer combination. It was delivered and installed on November 22,1963.Just around 15 minutes before the news came on unscheduled to give the world the news of John F. Kennedy's asassination.all of us were in shock, tears of shock, dissbelief and fear.Instead of being a surprize birthday party my Aunt Sherry had whipped up for me(my 7th birthday was the next day)a real nice angel food cake and Mom had bought me a cotton candy maker for my birthday,my grandmother,Mado, had gotten me a toy Wolverine waser-dryer.It was pink and I still have one identical to it. we along with the installers had all our eyes glued to the tube.Dad gatherd up all of our kids and the ones who came to the party and drove us to the roller skating rink to get out of the way of the installers.By the time we got back,my Mado had done all the wash.I,myself was so pissed off not getting to see our gas vented combo operate on it's maden wash that I went out in the back yard taking the hose and getting mud all over my Thanksgiving outfit.Dad was furious as Mado took off my clothes and made a full load to wash.I hurridly took a shower and went into the kitchen, grabbed a foot stool and sat right in front of our "Lady" and watched in amazement as it washed, rinsed 3 times ,spun making a cool whistling noise, then drying.I lked its performance and we had it in use until around '82 or '83 when my Dad's new wife,Betty hated it because she used no other detergent than Wisk liquid, which at the time was a severe high sudzer.it was replaced with a cheap Whirlpool smaller capacity (not super)washer with the recirculating magicMix filter. |
