I had this on my truck forever (I inherited it from who knows...) and never quite knew what it was until you posted your scans of the Maytag Combo manual. I now think this is a NOS drain solenoid. Stamped on the top is the cursive Maytag logo and the part# 4-15. I hope I'm correct, anyway. If anyone is interested, drop me a line!
