I just recieved an e-mail from a man that sent me these pics and wanted to know anything about this machine.

It has me puzzled as it looks Very Old, yet it has a Spray Arm on the bottom which I would have thought that a machine this old would be an Impeller

James maybe?

Shaped kind of like the James that appears in the pic of the day from time to time. Is the interior stainless or some other material? Is it missing some finish panels from the exterior? It looks rather crude, like perhaps it was home fabricated. Sure a strange machine.

About the Dishwasher, Found Some Numbers

Talking to my Grandfather and Father tonight I discovered that there was a Label that was affixed to the front of the machine but it was paper and my grandfather cannot remember when he last saw the label. Now there is an impeller at the bottom of the unit and it is not missing any pieces and also has at least 65 years of soap scum covering the inside.

I did find these characters on the leg. 44-3m

Military issue perhaps?

Maybe this was something made for the Armed Services during WWII. The numbers on the leg could be the manufacturing date.

It kind of looks like a lab glassware washer. The circle rack in the middle is where you would place test tubes and other glass like beakers around the outer edges.

oooh lab-ware washers (and separate dryers) are amazing!
I had seen those in person in a medical research laroatory setting.

They are quite thorough, as one does not want to see abosolutely anything (as in yibbles & bits) under the microscope. Very odd that this would have such a coating on its sides if that is its intended use.

At first glance I thought "parts washer". Then I saw someone wrote "lab glassware washer" which makes the most sense to me so far.
It's an interesting looking old thing which could be "adapted" for auto parts washing perhaps. I hope it's not sacriligious to suggest that. I never did much lab work though.
