First off, I have to tell you that from a general performance stand point, I love these machines. They have so many pluses, I almost hate to mention some weird things with them, but I think these should be shared:

Washer: In some cycles, the prewash and main wash detergent dispenser are flushed during the prewash.
There is no low spin speed. Medium, High, and Max work just fine. Selecting the low spin will result in the high spin speed, regardless of the cycle I am using.
Delicate cycle will not let you select a prewash. I like a lot of water changes to help with pet hair removal.

Dryer:
Very inaccurate dryness sensing, leaves most delicate loads way too wet to iron or put away. My Fisher-Paykel was much more accurate.
Drum hits the cabinet when drying heavy loads, like towels.
Clothes often get caught between the drum and the front felt seal. Thankfully, this stops the dryer.
Pulling lint filter out to clean it, often drops the lint load down into the venting system.

Both: Cool-looking designer paint colors are too delicate and very easily scratched. Will look like shit in no time at all, turning this set into appliance hoopties.

There with you on the pet hair removal

Greyhound owner, but Electrolux, apart from Miele is one of the best brands.... so it looks like Miele. We have an AEG and the rinsing is pretty dire!!

As A Miele Washer Owner

Find items with much to gross pet hair are best tumble dried (which removes much lint and hair anyway, better than any washing machine, IMHO), or wash such items in my Hoover TT.

Laundry tumbled back and forth in the small amount of water modern front loaders use, isn't going to have much chance with pet hair removal, even with extra rinses.

Am willing to bet my older Miele washer uses more water to wash and in each of the five rinses than your Electrolux, and there is still pet hair.

Actually, my Electrolux pair do a great job with pet hair, better than my F-P. I didn't mean to suggest they didn't. It's one of the good things about them. I just would like to have the option of a pre-wash in a delicate cycle.

The capacity of both machines is enourmous, and they easily clean large items such as sleeping bags and comforters. The cleaning performance is superb. It just those few quirks that are curious.

Why don't modern manufacturers offer a "pet hair" cycle? Lots of water.....

Andrewinorlando, i think since these machines have all the electronics you should be able to, "key in" things like pet blankets or whatever. The vacuum cleaner companies have certainly marketed to pet owners. alr2903

If you want to do a pre-wash for Delicate clothing, use the extra rinse.
This is a work around, but still useful!
Just make sure you re-adjust spin speed to low.
If I'm correct, the machine will ramp up to high RPM before shifting to low during the spin cycle.
I'm not home to verify.

With modern FL machines, pet hair removal is best left to the dryer to perform. And you'll notice with FL machines is that when you remove the dog laundry you'll have a lot of dog hair left in the washers drum. You have to remove all that before washing the next load.
The GE Filterflows are the best machines for pet hair/lint removal. I wish they's make them again.

Hairs left in drum?

Have washed dog blankets many times in a variety of front loading machines and have never had any hair left on the blankets or the machine, I rarely tumble dry. This includes older machines using lots of water and modern machines using very little.

I do shake them outside before I put them in. Does that make the difference? I thought that was just common sense!

ABOUT PET HAIR.

aldspinboy's profile picture
I have to say that I agree with Launderess ... I have three cat's and I put most of all my dark clothes that reveal hair in the dryer it depends on the load ...
10, 20, 30 min on air dry and and the majority of the hair is gone. If I don't take that step I don't care what front loader you use, and I have used a lot of brands... the hair will clump in places on the load and the window, plus it looks nicer when you put the laundry in the machine. When I took out the air dried load my screen was full of hair to the max and the next load of pet haired laundry I do I will try to post pics.
Dryer used BOSCH NEXXT PREMIUM .
