Oh... My... GAWD!!! I LOVE THIS WASHER!!!! So far, it seems to behave just like any European washer with full speed spins after the wash and between the rinses! Here are some pluses:
-When turned on, it plays a little tune, I know LG is well known for this, but, it's just so cute!
-Once the cycle is started, it immediately does a spin burst to sense the load and calculate how long the cycle will take. I've had it decided the cycle will take 40 minutes, and I have it decide the cycle will take an hour and 40 minutes!
-I've heard many complaints about LGs taking forever to balance for the spin? This is sooooo not true! It takes less than 2 minutes to balance and then it's off!
-It can be paused at any point in the cycle and the door opened, on top of that, it doesn't mess around with unlocking the door! Press play/pause and within seconds you hear that little "snap!"
-Even without the extra rinse selected, it still managed to get my towels softer than my 1951 double deep rinse Unimatic can!
-After draining from every bath, it pours some fresh water into the outer drum to flush away the old water from the sump! While it's not a solid tub top loader that can't mix water from the outer tub sump and the inner tub, it certainly does a good job of making up for that!
-Something I've never seen any other front load or top load washer do is it will spin in either direction! It tumbles one way then accelerates to distribution speed and if it likes it, it just ramp up, if it doesn't, it'll stop and try going the other way!
-The spin is just barely louder than Robert's Super Unimatic at full speed! This machine spins at 1,050 RPM for a full 10 minutes for the final spin! Seriously, you could whisper over the damn thing!
-The drum... It's just so damn PRETTY!!!
-And of course, it plays that adorable little tune when it finishes!! :)

Now for some cons:
-The pump... Oh, the pump... It's pretty loud when it first starts up! While it's running and pumping, it's not very loud, still louder than the machine at full speed spin, but still not very loud. But when it starts up! GEEZE! Loudest part of the machine! My roommate has decided that it sounds like the machine is "grunting" when the pump comes on!
-The fill... It doesn't pour any water over the window and so it gets foggy and loose hair tends to end up stuck to the window! (One of my pet peeves!)
-The "hot" wash... The machine claims that it's 120 degrees F... It's not even that! MAYBE 115, if you run the machine just past it water line-wise to get the water hot! Otherwise, it's about 110 or even 105 degrees F.
-The options... It has "Stain Cycle" which adds wash time and an extra rinse, "Extra Rinse" which obviously, adds a rinse, and "Pre-Wash" which adds a prewash of course... These are all great options to have, but it will only let you use one at a time!

Overall, I must say, I am much more impressed with this machine that I thought I was going to be! I would definitely buy this machine again and I will be recommending it to others! :)

That's certainly a ringing endorsement for LG washers! And I'm glad you mentioned the little tune it plays, because as goofy as it sounds, I love hearing it when my LG dishwasher completes a cycle.

I know a couple of people in town with LG washers, and both really like 'em.

Have fun with it!

LG-> Looking Good!

If their service were better, I'd say they'd conquer the market!

Jamie. I am so glad that you are happy with the washer. Then machine does wash well. I have the original one WM2032HW. It does have problems, but hopefully in 5 years they worked them out.

Lets see a wash and rinse and spin video too.

Ray

Does that machine have a TUB CLEAN cycle? If so, check it out!

LG and Hot Water -

Jamie:

I have the LG Steam Washer, and I believe that when you select the "Stain Cycle", it brings the wash water up to 120 degrees and maintains that temperature throughout the wash. In fact, mine does a "cool down" at the end of the wash cycle to bring the temperature back down.

I use this for my whites and towels - on the Permanent Press cycle, so that I can get a higher fill with the hot wash water. Love your machine!

LG - Love Them!

I also own the LG WM2010CW, which I got a couple of months ago just for fun. Got it new for under $500. I love the drum in it, and it washes VERY well. The drain pump is noisy, but I suppose even Miele drain pumps are a bit noisy.

LG's can't be bad if I've purchased 4 of their washers/dryers thus far.

I've been in the mood for quite some time to sell my current larger set of LGs, the LG WM2233HW and LG DLE3733W, since I special ordered the LG WM3988HWA WasherDryer Combo from Home Depot with their 10% off sale on LG appliances. No better time to do ~Operation Washer~ than when the man is out of the country for 5 months :-) *Shhhh*

A few of it's features I'm drooling over are the Steam, Forced Water Circulation, LED drum light, and its got the pretty LCD screen. Yes I already know about the limitations of the condenser dryer :-)

The 2010CW that Jamie just got is a great machine for it's cost!

Andrew

Wow, what an awesome washer, Jamie. I love my LG Steam Washer. How do you like the “Clean Sense” feature?

Steve, it’s not LG’s service that’s bad. It’s the GE warranty company that Peter used that was so bad.

mrb627- It does have the Tub Clean cycle! I did try it! It's AWESOME!!! I didn't let it do the entire tub clean cycle though, as the cycle is 1 hour and 11 minutes!

westtexman- I have not tried the Stain Cycle yet, but I don't believe my machine has a heater...

vacfanatic- I too have been drooling over the full size LG Steam combo machine! In fact, a friend of mine just might be buying one to replace his DD Kenmore set! He hates laundry and having to stick around and transfer things from washer to dryer and listen to all the noise of his current machines that are stuffed in a closet IN his bedroom! Besides, he is currently looking at the Maytag Epic Z set which costs slightly more than the combo!

washoholic- To be perfectly honest, I don't know anything about the Clean Sense feature or even if my machine has it! How does it work?

SenseClean™

washoholic's profile picture
It's actual called SenseClean™
SenseClean™ measures the water’s turbulence and then adjusts water and cycle length for more precise cleaning and energy efficiency. The owner's manual on line for your machine talks about it. Check out the link. Go to the link, click on "Support" (Top right), and the on "Washers Manual
English" to see the owner's manual.

Some of the features listed on the website do not exist on my machine. For example it says that it has 5 soil levels when my machine only has three. I don't think my machine has Sense Clean as it never adjusts the wash time after the initial spin burst to determine the load's weight. Also, I can't find any mention of it in the manual.

You're right Jamie. It's listed under "FEATURES" not in the owner's manual. It also says, "Design, features and specifications subject to change without notice." I guess that's something that changed without notice. Oh well, I love that machine anyway.

OMG!

That end of cycle tune is the tune of our county's song, The Lincolnshire Poacher...

Lol.

Great washer Jamie - I'm thinking of an LG myself, wanting a bigger machine to wash duvets and that better.

washoholic- Ya, oh well, I still love it too! Plus, it's one less thing to break!

Jon- Interesting! I do love it, it does a great job on smaller comforters, I do wish this machine had a bulky cycle though with raised water levels for such items!

Jed- Think you'll be getting rid of the Duet Sport and gettin one of these anytime soon? Maybe you could just throw away one of your old, inefficient toploaders and get one of these! ;)

Jamie, I would love to get rid of this machine! It's got boring written all over it, even worse is the tinted window.

My dad wants to get a new front loader, but refuses to until his Kenmore DD dies. He was excited when it broke awhile back, but I just replaced the coupler and it's still shreddin'. Debating what kind of FL to recommend to him as he will buy whatever I tell him. Leaning towards Speed Queeen at this point, but your LG sure is nice! I'll have to look at these too.

LG Front Load Washers are the way to go

I've seen nothing but praise in all the LG WM2010CW reviews I've come across. Seems like LG has really hit a home run with this one. I've also found another site that has very good things to say about the LG WM2016CW front load washer. Its a little larger than the 2010, so might be better for a larger family or some such.

hi brbrook,

New washers always get good reviews because there is no lenght of time to evaluate their performance/ faults.

I love these machines the bearings go alot and I've got to pay the mortgage somehow!.

Enjoy the machine anyway, there is no denying it looks fantastic and those direct drive motor are very quiet.

So far I also love my new LG washer and dryer. I had to stick the owners manual under the front leg, and now it run perfectly. If I knew how the put photos from my camera to the computer, I would show the picture of this.
