I'm just curious; did the old Westy slant front dryers have positive air flow? I saw a YouTube video where the guy had the front panel of the dryer off, showing the heat element. It looked like the blower was right in the element, therefore blowing the heated air into the drum (instead of sucking it out).

Yes the air was blow over the heating elements and into the drum, The motor was double shafted. The front had the blower atached and the back had a pulley for the drum belt. I am having trouble getting mine fixed. I've had it to two motor repair shops (only 2 in town) and can't get it repaired or replaced. The bearings are shot, and can't seem to find a replacement motor to fit the mountings for the dryer. JEB
And I know how hard it is to find parts for defunct makes. As you probably know, Westinghouse now only makes small appliances and motors, and White-Westinghouse became a different company altogether, made by Franklin, WCI and Electrolux. Maybe you can contact Westinghouse Electric at www.westinghouse.com..., and ask if they still have motors available to retrofit your dryer, or know where you can get a hold of one. I don't know if Electrolux would be any help, but it's worth a try. Good Luck:)
