Does this have the internal goodies of the Center-Dial's?..The dryer looks the same inside as mine and the wash basket has that center dial look...

Not quite.

The dryer is a "Big Load" style and the washer has the Orbital short/fast stroke transmission. As far as stacked units go, this one is one of the best, but it isn't a center dial clone.

One really is getting bothered by sellers who insist on calling such units "stackable","stacking" or some such. They are one piece units and forever STACKED!

Either of the first terms implies one could separate the units, like portable washing machines and dryers, which is simply not the case.

Rant over!

*LOL*

Maytag Mates

Maytags (the REAL ones) went through 3 almost neatly segmented eras. First, the AMP washer matched the original down-draft dryer with the 3" exhaust. Then the spinning tranny washer mated with the Halo-of-Heat dryer. Then the Orbital washer mated with the "Stream-of-Heat" dryer. However, the last transition wasn't so synchronized. The HOH dryer was replaced in the late 70's by the SOH, long before the Orbital drive washer came out by about 10 years. So you see, the SOH dryer saw a few "Centre Dial" years, whereas the Orbital drive washer came long after.
