Hello,

I'm having trouble diagnosing why this dryer doesn't want to heat up. Checked the ignitor and flame sensors but also no heat and no "click" when the machine starts up. Has anyone had experience with these new "lint in the door" whirlpools? Everytime I get one the motors half burnt out. But this no heat thing has got me perplexed. Is there a common part that goes out?

Could it be

the gas solenoid?

Have you checked that with a continuity tester?

Beyond that, I am clueless.

Dangling wire by the heat selector (temp) switch or the thrmostat(s)?

I had a gas stove where the resistance of the glow-plug changed (the stove was pissed-of for being stored in a cold garage.) Although there was continuity it would not fully open the gas solenoid valve... same set up in a dryer?

Let us klnow please when you find it...and how to fix!

Check the thermal fuse which is to the left of the operating thermostat. It has 2 wires going to it and is a one shot type fuse, does not reset. It will trip and not allow voltage to the gas valve if the operating thermo does not cycle correctly. You can take the two wires and connect them together to see if you hear the soleniods click. Then change the thermal fuse AND the 4 wire operating thermo. Hope this helps!!!!
