Hi all

As an Ultimafan, I feel I'd better post this beauty that popped up on eBay. A Hotpoint TL42 Ultima sensor dryer. I haven't seen one in a while actually, I don't think many people bought these, I guess they went for the MOL Hotpoint dryers then (TL31, TL32) I think it has been made in 1996, looks great, top of the range at its time. I would just bid myself, but it is too far and I am in Uni at the moment.

Anyhoo, thought I'd share it with everyone on Automaticwasher.org :)

Nice looking machine. Hotpoint dryers always seemed significantly more reliable than the washers - especially into the 1990's. We had a Hotpoint-made Electra (1993 model) for a while and it was horrid. I also know a few people who had the early WM machines and had nothing but trouble with them. Shame as the series before this were fantastic.

Hi Aquacycle!

I've just replied to you on my other thread regarding dryer buzzers!

Whether or not the WM series were unreliable, the sad truth is that they must be fondly remembered compared to today's Hotpoints!

I've found a picture of the successor to the TL42, the TL43, which was the last Ultima Sensor digital dryer, I think it lasted until 98, as the WM71 Hotpoint Ultima's had no dedicated Ultima digital dryer, wonder why this series didn't have one? I know they had a dial controlled Ultima though.
