My partner and I had that exact same set from about 1983 to 1986. The washer was awsome, but very noisy. The dryer was one of the lint-o-matic specials that blew hot air into the drum rather than sucking it out. However, the speed of getting a week's worth of laundry done with this pair was nothing less than astounding. (Bring the lint roller, though, you'll need it)
Rinso, i never used the wards, but i liked to look at them at catalogue store. The smell of a new washer, is right up there with the smell of a new car. I did have Magic chefs, in the late 80 early 90's if they functioned similary they were very good washers. The truth, the by then reengineered, chef dryer caused me to question my religion many times. The chef washer was huge and washed well...i beleived the repair guy and junked it, all it needed was a timer. of course something else might have went wrong right away.
