So you decided not to get the Kaiser then ;-) I'm curious as to how this seller arrived at his asking price... It certainly is a very interesting machine with an even more interesting history, but as Steve R says: "HONEY PLEASE!!!"

HONEYYYYY PUUUUUUULEEEEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rember well the Kaiser automobiles of the day and would hope their appliances would have been better built than the cars. Seemed like all their stuff was war-rationed pot metal construction. I don't think I ever saw one of their cars driving down the road. Someone was either working on one to try to get the damn thing to run or paying someone to take it off to the krusher.

I'm sure someone will take me to task for it but in my opinion that dishwasher looks like a camel designed by a committee. Whom ever is trying to sell it OUGHT to donate it to the Smithsonian as a pot metal piece of abstract art. Looks a lot more like it is related to the "tin man" or "R2D2" than something that could wash dishes.

Sorry--------for that kind of money I'm still looking for a new out of the box pair of '58 "Ultra-Cleans" in Sunny Yellow of course!

WOW-Holey Mackeral-for the price he is asking for what was a crummy dishwasher in function-for that money you could buy several WORKING ones instead of the Kaiser. The Kaiser should go to a museam that is capable of paying the sellers grossely inflated price.Value in the eye of the beholder!!

Hi Mark is this guy from Iowa? I was contacted about seven years ago by a guy who had a Kaiser DW brand new in the box. I think he wanted $500 then and I thought that was too much for a water powered dishwasher.

At $2500 I think he wants to keep it.

I had heard about this type of DW - it is said from what I remember if you had good water pressure it would do a good job. If not it would not. I think it ran strictly on water pressure. No electric involved. Am I correct? Also I remember seeing one of these babies in a house garden magazine in the 60's. Very interesting especially with the window!

I also think the owner is asking much to much money. If nobody buys it I bet they will go down in price.

THE KAISER

Hi Everyone! This machine is located in Tampa, Florida. I have no idea how this seller came to that kind of price but.. W O W ! ! ! I have a feeling that even if it's new in the box it will still need everything, especially since it's run by some kind of hydrolic water pressure mechanism. (just think of all those pressure seals!) It would be cool to own but, yes, even I, am tired of paying these inflated prices for what usually turns out to be JUNK. Mark

Very cool DW! I read the article, but how did these work exactly? I don't see any type of spray device in the interior picture...

That's a cool machine. I just can't imagine it would have worked all that well. I just wonder how it handled the soap. If it uses a steady stream of water from the water source how is the soap added to the water and recirculated on the dishes?

hydrodynamic and hydraulic.

"water-power" and "pertaining to water/liquid"

Funny how a Greek word here and there makes it all sound so...so...so... powerful and special.

looks like a bad idea just keeps re-surfacing...(see link)

I'll see waht I can do. I had this hanging in my appliance showroom, but I'm in the process of moving my business. Consequently, the dw is behind a bunch of crap in my garage at home. If I can wade through everything, I'll post what I gots.

dishwasherette

actually, those little Carocelle machines work perty well, I've used 'em before. You can use plain hand dish liquid in them .But the food soils can't be dried on however. If you run it after each meal, and capacity wise, you'd have to, it's fine. These debuted in about 1969.

I saw one of these at a second-hand store before the hoarding addiction (oopp sorry meant collector's passion... LOL) hit me.

I'm sorry I let it go... It was cheap too .. and some fabulous yellow and brown combo of colors.
