I have a '79 Filter Flo matched set that I bought used years ago for my sister when she got married. I have to say, she ran up to 20 loads a week for 5 years, until I bought her a Bosch set, and traded her for the Filter Flo. I do several loads a week in it to this day, and it has never had a repair or even a hiccup. And still shows no signs of pooping out on me.

Anyway, my point of the post. The washer came with the full filter pan, softener dispenser and mini-basket. Well, my sister never used anything but the filter pan, and then I convinced her to stop using softener. So, my genious brother in law threw the damn things out. I have had the machine at my house for a while, and never asked for it until recently, of course I have the filter pan. Come to find out the rest of it was taken to the dump. SO...here is my trouble. I have gotten two of these suckers off of e-bay. Both arrived and do not fight right on the washer. My washer is only the Large capacity, not the Extra Large. Both of the mini baskets I bought, I am thinking are for the Ex. Lg and not a standard like mine. It does not rest firmly on the activator. I do have the ramped activator in this washer....I would LOVE to get the straight vaned to play with too...I think they are so much more dramatic and fun. Lord have mercy, though, they are hard to find!! So, my question is.....how in the hell do I know what fits before I buy? I searched the model number online, and I refuse to pay upwards of 100 dollars for the set up. I would love the softener disp. too. But beggars cannot be choosers. I thought this would be much simpler, but now I am here, asking the experts. :) Any suggestions/help from ya'll? TIA.

Joel

Just about a week or so ago there was a ramp activator mini-basket on Ebay that I'm pretty sure was for standard capacity models. I'll keep looking for you.

bosch2460,

I have a Fabric softener dispenser if you are interested. I will post a picture of it here once I clean it up.

The standard sized mini baskets are VERY hard to come by. At some point in the 1990's I think every one of them must have ended up in some dump. I have 12 Extra large sized mini-baskets in a variety of shapes and colors, but the ones that are designed to fit the standard spiral ramp activator are rare. Spiral mini-baskets that are 10 1/2 inches from top to bottom are for the Extra Large machines. I've used that as a benchmark when talking to people who have them to sell. I lucked out 2 years ago when a used appliance store owner allowed me into his basement to poke around. I found a new version of the standard sized basket, but it's the only one I have. I am always looking for these three:

Thanks for the info and offers. I had no idea that the large capacity ones were so rare. I actually do use the mini wash sometimes, without the basket. Just this morning my nephew had a 2 new red shirts...and I mini-washed those without the tub insert. Seems to do ok to me. :) But if it comes to more bulky stuff, all they do is spin around and splash, and I doubt much cleaning happens. :)

Any offers suggestions, etc, regarding the softener dispenser, or mini-basket, are much appreciated. I do not HAVE to have any of this stuff, but its just the accessories that make washers more fun.....now to find a stinkin' Maytag 806 around my area. Kinda like searching for a husband in this God-forsaken town. :)
