Hey all you Kenmore experts. I need the part # for a dispenser tube for 1972 Lady Kenmore washer with a triple dispenser. The tube is brittle, and leaking where it attaches at the outer tub. I would like to replace it, and the belt, If I can find out the part # for that as well. I would also like a shout out, to anyone who knows where I can get a Harvest Gold/or white Roto Swirl agitator, for a standard capacity machine. Any help would be appreciated. The machine has a Vari/Flex agi., but nothing beats the roll over of the Roto Swirl. Thanks alot. David

I haven't the foggiest idea what to do for part numbers, aside from look them up on Sears Parts Direct where they have scanned diagrams. I am just beginning to get into my machine, and boy what a mess! The belt should be easy enough to find. The tube might be a standard dimension which you could buy by the foot at your local hardware store and trim to length. My agitator is a white Vari-Flex. I am trying to figure out how to get the lower part of the agitator out of the machine. It seems to be stuck. A Super Rotoswirl would be good to play with. Good luck with yours, Dave |

David - The easiest thing to do is take your model number to SearsPartsDirect.com and enter it there. You'll get the machine's original parts list pages which you can browse online and print if you want. Selecting a specific part will yield the original part number if the item is NLA (so you can search for it elsewhere), find out if the part is current, and what the new number is if any. If Sears has it in stock, they'll quote you a price. There were four variations of the 1972 Lady K (one was from changing the tub ring from metal to plastic). Without having your model number, it's tough to say for certain on a particular part, but I know the belt covers every skinny belt model there was. I know they are plentiful, part number 96388. I think they are cheaper elsewhere than at Sears. The hose is a different story. It's part number is 357006 now, at least as it applies to my '72 Lady. This hose is NOT plentiful and I suggest your grab one wherever you can find it. The part number given is for large tub models, which is simply longer than the standard cap tubs used in '72 Lady Ks. This is a Whirlpool authorized sub. which was done when the '72's hose went NLA. Please verify that your specific model also requires this hose. When removing the old hose from the triple dispenser, be VERY careful not to crach the dispenser or break the hose mounting area. These dispensers are very expensive when they can be found. Gordon |

About the agitator...285062 is the part number for current Roto-Swirls. Yes, they are still available new in white. I have seen gold ones on ebay used, and probably any place that sold used appliances which has been around a while has or had leftover roto-swirls. They were everywhere in the 90s, for freebies, at least around here. G |

VolvoGuy Dave - Getting the lower part of a Vari-Flex or often any standard capacity agitator out of a late 60s/1970s machine can be tricky. Often in these machines the agitator rusted onto the shaft. I had to break many a roto-swirl and straight-vane off with a long screw driver and a mallet. It was horrible to do that, but often they were stucker than stuck. This is why most repair and re-sale shops kept these agitators from machines they were scrapping. Seeing that there are few if any spare Vari-Flexes around, I used my agitamer on my '72 last year. Even that wasn't easy as there isn't a lot of room under the Vari' for the 'tamer, and it came off slowly, creaking and groaning. It yielded a decent agitator shaft though, and I didn't break the agitator. If you have an agitamer, that'll do it and that's what I recommend. GOOD LUCK! Gordon |
