So I'll give you the story with this pair. In 2003, I went out looking for a new washer and dryer and came across this set in my local appliance store. They were floor models and very nice...but with no price on them. Owner came over and pointed out that the dryer had arrived with a dent on the control panel and he couldn't get anyone to buy the thing. Obviously the dryer ran fine with no issues. He sold me that washer for $350.00 and gave me the dryer for FREE...he wanted rid of it. Just last summer I starting having maintenance issues with both machines. The dryer started making very odd noises...sounded like a freight train when it was running, turned out to be bad rollers. I replaced the rollers, belt, and belt tensioner. The plastic wheel on the tensioner actually had broke off into a million pieces, but the dryer still ran for who knows how long like that! The belt only showed minimal wear! As far as the washer...I had to replace the drain pump last summer, and just yesterday the drive coupler. Pic links are below...you'll see the dent in the panel on the dryer...sorry for the blurry pics. Also, I threw in a few pics of my old Sears Coldspot fridge/freezer that has been in the family since the early 70's...still runs like a champ! Makes for a nice beer fridge and extra storage for frozen items.

That looks EXACTLY like the set I bought brand new from Best buy in 2002, had them for 2 years, sold them to my sister in Greenville Ohio and bought the Duets in 2005. As far as I know, they are still working and haven't been serviced. It was May 2002 when they were purchased new.

Nice set, I'm starting to see more and more of those on the trade in piles.

My best friens husband had that pair when she moved in. he got them new in 2004. The washers tranmission comletely ceased in 2007 and was replaced by an LG FL,but the dryer is still going strong. They now have 2 kids and tend to do 3 full loads every 2days. The dryer now takes longer because of the larger load but still does the job without any maintience so far. She can't wait for the dryer to die so she can replace it with a match for the washer. She keeps asking when is this damn thing goin to kick it. I said in about 5 years or so lol.
