I've just about had it with my Frigidaire front loader! I have about a half load of colored bath towels, and the darn thing won't spin, just keeps tumbling and tumbling.

I can't afford a new top loader and I'm a big fan of today's top loaders so should I get....

1. A used front loader
2. A vintage top loader
3. A newer used top loader

I just got a Sears badged Frigidaire front loader with the square door that has the same issue---a faulty mother board!!

It fills, tumbles and drains but will not spin. The door locks, the dispensor works and the timer advances.Empty or full of clothes,it won't spin.

I wonder if this, like the berrings in other previous nodels before this one came out is another flaw in the design??

Mine will spin eventually, the estimated time for the final spin was 15 minutes, at 2 minutes it still hadn't spun out yet. So I stopped it and reset it for a spin only, and and still took forever for it to finally spin out.

I would say go with a vintage top loader i would recommend that you try to find a vintage speed queen or a vintage GE filter Flo for vintage models and if you are going with a newer used top load i would recommend that you try to find a speed queen model from last year.

I've been looking for a GE Filter Flo, Whirlpool/Kenmore belt drive, would love to get a Frigidaire 1-18.

The GE Filter Flo Machines...

....are wonderful. I had one about 20 years ago, and I still miss it.

It was replaced with a Maytag in 1993....I bought it new and my mother still has it. Not one repair to date and it has been carefully but well used. Washes well too. I used it for some stuff this last weekend while waiting for my new one and it's still like new.

You might want to consider one of the Depndable Care Maytags with the porcelain tubs like that one is. It's been a rock solid performer for 17 years.
