I can be SURE that this is the front loader version of the Westy that was at Greg's house at convention. |

I agree.. and nice machines they are. Were Westinghouse really that awful before WCI? Grandpa's Westy fridge with push-button hot gas defrost never wore out. It was in servcce from 1953 to 1993+/-. Got rid of it for other reasons. It was still mechanically sound! LOVE the hippied-out mu-mu Pearl has on. |

I had one of these in the early 80's ( slightly updated from what Pearl is showing) and It was a great machine, washed beautifully, never got out of balance and lasted well into the 90's with only 1 small minor repair. Westinghouse didn't go down hill until WCI took over. Until then Westinghouse had a strong, reiliable product.

I had the same set from 1979 to 1985, only it was in harvest gold. I sold the set to a friend when I moved in 1985, and she's still using it! I remember the magazine ad, and the TV commercial with Ms. Baily. I also remember that Mrs. Columbo had this set. |

Why isn't there any text to go with the advert? With that look on Ms. Bailey's face, I would wonder what she is trying to say! |
