This cabinet had dents, rust out, and warped metal from sitting in the junkyard for years. I had fixed it, straightened it, and patched and painted it as best as I could during the restoration a couple years ago. It still tended to make me "seasick" to look at it.....

I found this newer parts machine last summer, thanks to the guy across the street. Unfortunatly, the lower cabinet, and a few other parts were all that were salvageable.

I sanded and painted the lower cabinet white, and installed on the Monkey Norge, and we were vorpulating in style last night!

Another blue light--I love it

Remember last year when you showed a machine with a blue light that drove us gaga.

Vintage Rickr restoration--fabulous! Those unusual main dials, like the one on your new baby, are the stuff of washermen's dreams.

You're so lucky. Happy high noon to you, and thank you.

Beautiful work, as always, Rick! I also love the "remote control" button to advance the timer.

Rick, you almost fooled me there, I was thinking that machine was a Whirlpool. Very nice restoration. I bet you know the in's and out's of that machine. Must be Norge's answer to the 70's Whirlpool BD.

Very very nice Rick!

I swear you are the busiest guy I know. Renovating homes, performing body work on washers, etc. That stuff takes time! Where do you find it?

Rick it looks just amazing!!! It's hard to believe its the same machine. I love the fact that you put the burpalator into that washer with the recirculation flume going at the same time. Btw, what does the original agitator in that machine look like, was it a light blue color?

Rick, you're a genious!!

But we all already knew that.

That's a great looking mnachine. I've never seen that particular model before.

Good luck.

Thanks everybody! This is a machine from 1969. The original agitator was white, and I still have it. I doubt if I will ever use it again either. The burpulator is so much fun! The smaller blue lint basket type filter was cut down so that it can be used with the larger burpulator filter. Or the smaller burpulator filter can be used with the large basket type lint filter. Mostly I simply use the large burpulator filter and NO basket filter at all. The holes are smaller in the burpulator filters, so they trap more lint anyway. (burpulating while vorpulatiing is much more fun anyway)

I saw this machine in the junkyard in 2006, and turned my nose up at it. It was REALLY ugly, rusty, and beat up ! Kenny (goatfarmer) saw through the uglyness, rescued it, and later gave it to me. I am so glad that Kenny pulled this one out of the junkyard, as I have never seen another like it. Here is a link to a demo of the touch control timer. There are some other videos of the Monkey Norge in action, in our You Tube videos, if anyone wants to view them again.

Thanks again for the nice comments!

Wow Nice job Rick,
I dont know that much about the Monkey Norge but you have done a great job in restoring it.
If you are using it as your daily driver might be an idea not to spank the monkey too hard, bearing in mind she is from 1969.

Keep looking Todd, you will find one at some point. Perhaps another member has one. Have you ever posted a request for one on the forum? The burpulating and lint filters are alot of the fun of using a Norge built machine.

What a great job. You just never cease to amaze me. By the way, great job on the 'Summer House' too. Hope the new tenant appreciates the vintage goodies.
