Would these appliances be from the early 90's? Nice looking dishwasher.

They are still in use. The owner is switching to stainless steel. The racks have two spots on them. they look like they have been burned. The owner uses paper plates because plates take up too much room in the dishwasher. It has only been used for pots, glasses and silverware.

Tried to move the washer, it weighs a ton.

Money shot. Are these machines worth the money or big problems in the future?

There is a matching dryer. Interesting that they have "on" lights. The dryer is really loud, you don't need to see a light to know its going. Didn't try the washer. I did pull out the softener dispenser, should there be a lint filter in there?

Yep, they're 90's machines. There is indeed a lint filter in the center of the agitator. There may be 2 screen mesh ones as well, at the bottom of the tub. These are pretty much the very last of the good Maytags.

What noise is the dryer making? If it's a screeching noise, it probably just needs front tumbler glides and pads. Cheap and easy repair.

Thats the exact same Maytag washer we had before our AquaSmart.

We had so many issues with it in its final year.

Ours didn't have a lint filter in the centre of the agitator :S

dependable care

Have one of these washers in our apartment here in Vancouver, and Rich has one in Yakima in our place in the "washer room". Great washer for sure, mine does not have the lint filter in the agitator. But all in all, does an amazing job on whatever I throw at it, always comes out clean

those are like 1994 or 1995. I this MaytagBear has that same washer. and I disagree, it's only a self-cleaning filter on the washer, no in-agitator filter.

That DW still had the 'fan dry'.

Had a version of that washer. Fast agitation, and I think the only filter was under the agitator. I was not impressed with the rollover. Changed the agitator out to a corkscrew and the rollover improved considerably.

Agitator filter

As Chris said, its a great machine, but ours does have the agitator filter,BUT it didn't come with it, it was a accessory to it, that I bought with the machine, new. The filter/softner despenser is shorter in height, than non-filter version.

The dishwasher shown, I had that same model but in white, which was the first dishwasher I ever bought.

Brian, My mom has the same machines. lol The washer is a step up in that it has the extra rinse option and I think a few more options. It is still working. I think she bout it in 1995, and it only had 1 minor repair. It does do a alot of laundry from 3 people who all do their own laundry, with lots of dirty, greasy work clothes too.

The dishwasher was bought before that and was a portable, but the contractor converted it when the kitchen was remodeled. The dishwasher was never repaired, load howver, but does a great job and has the air dry option.

The matching dryer has been repaird a couple of times, but it still is working nicely.

I have a higher up model.....but like others I chaged out the agitator for a cork screw type...better turnover....for some real fun install a true turquoise powerfin in there....then you got movement!
