Hey everyone as promised i have taken some videos of the series 90 in action. No such luck with the famous spin drain on the final rinse on this particular program, i might try a few of the other settings and see if it does it... though in the meantime here is the main wash:

Hi, nice to see a Series 90 working again after all these years. Unfortunately ours died back in 1996. Ours was the 'Elite' version of this model with variable temperature and variable spin dials.

No spin drain on the models with the controls on the right hand side I'm afraid. These are made in Italy. Anything made in the UK (Halifax) with the dials on the left should have the spin drain.

Tom.

Great video's and a superb machine! My best friends Mum swore by Philips, she was very dissapointed with the Philips Whirlpool machine which replaced her 70's Philips when it died.

Hey Brandon

The machine looks ace.

Good to see those water levels again!
The distribution is still pretty good tho! Best one that anyone has recorded yet.

Agreed....

Whilst it's a shame it doesn't do the famous spin-drain, it's still the most impressive distribution-drain i've seen.

It looks and sounds really healthy too, the sorta machine id like alongside my Zanussis :)

thanks for the comments everyone, it is a great machine - i really want the other model with the spin drain - i'm betting the one in Ormskirk has it, i just don't know if i have the time to do all the way up there to pick it up :o(

I also might be moving house soon so i need to make sure that my new place will have enough space for a Series 90 washer collection!! Hopefully this wont be the last Series 90 we see on ebay!!

Brandon

Yep fantastic distribution on these, they rinsed extremely well. The delicates and woollens cycles main wash also uses this extremely high water level. As you might imagine, it took quite a while to heat up that much water.

Sadly our Series 90 had problems from day one, eventually ending in the pump catching fire in 1996, although various reports suggest our machine was very much the exception to the rule.

Brandon, does yours have the lever at the bottom which raises the machine up onto wheels? This was a great innovation.

Tom.

heya tom

not that i have noticed - maybe that was an 'elite' addition.

the guy i bought it off has the original manuals, gonna ask him to send them to me - i might be able to get a more exact birthday from them!
