cream faded control panel nicely looked after by previous owner. I could tell that she had never been opened up for servicing/tinkering..

seized pump?
Congrats on your find i have the first Hoover TT and although its in great condition i have found the spin pump to seize when its been standing i am looking for a replacement as even after cleaning its not as free spinning as it should be. Try removing the pump belt and turning the pump manually or seeing of the motor turns the spinner better. Not sure if this is the problem, Good luck Richard
