Hi all,

Today I noticed my AEG spun clockwise. I know for a fact that it always spins anti-clockwise. It has never done this before so not sure what to make of it. Though it's not a major thing.

The load must have been unbalanced as the machine seemed to have taken a while to balance the load - as with this machine it spins unbalanced anyway, so don't know why it bothers to balance the load! I noticed when I went into the kitchen the machine ramped up to a slow spin with the drum shaking a fair bit (as it does) but it did spin clockwise and then slowed down and started distributing anti-clockwise and then spun again aniclockwise - the normal direction.

Is there a possibilty that the electronics got confused? lol

Okay may I add

another question... why does a washer spins just in one direction for exemple anti-clockwise? I've heard that direct drive LG's can ramp up to full speed in both ways...

EITHER WAY---

I had an L.G. washer and dryer and the washer absolutely went either way depending on how well the load was ballanced.I never noticed it until I was sick one day and was laying down on a mat in front of the washer. I had installed a set of battery operated string lights and felt too ill to get up. So,as the machine was getting ready to spin after the final rinse,it was bollancing the load and reved up going the opisite way of what it went originaly.I called L.G. Cust svc only to find out that it was normal and the direct drive front loaders have no set way of spinning!Unlike the W'pool,Elux and GE models all of which are programed to spin counter clockwise. My preferance is clockwise.I have no clue why. maybe because the original Bendix and westinghouse front loaders went that way.

Must be confused electronics. Still, if it's still working then i guess no major harm done.

Id keep an eye on it though. And maybe not bother to replace the recirculation pump for a while, incase the electronics are starting to get tired aswell!
