This must be when Hotpoints became entirely GE-built.

This was actually the 1st series of Hotpoint GE washers with the handwash adj. We had the second series with the back opening lid like the GE's. All in all I liked the Hotpoints better because I always felt the filter pans just got in the way.

Yes, this ad is from right after the changeover to the GE platform washer. The older style washer is in the small picture at the lower right of the page, between the range and big-mouth dryer. I have a couple Hotpoint full line catalogs from the early 70's, and one year features the old style, and the next year they're the GE style. Don't have access to my old catalogs right now (in storage) or I'd look at the exact dates.

Oh yes you can tell that the washer below is all Hotpoint. But the dryers were already GE style for a few years. They switched the dryers I think in the mid 60's. FYI also the top load dishwashers were already GE style for a few years before the switch.
