yes.The lid and the back splash give it away.

Exactly like my GE portable....

It's made by Hitachi for GE (and Hotpoint).

RCD found this one and brought it along with the GE and 1-18 sets he traded me for.

Kind of a cool little machine... but after the main wash, there are 2 (or is it 3?) rinses, BUT they are only drain and fill rinses! It spins ONLY once at the end of the cycle!

Love the little Hotpoint! Its on my list of machines to get. These seem to pop up west of me most of the time tho.

Little GE Hitachi

I passed on one of these on Craigslist here in NE Pennsy a couple or years back. It was dirt cheap and I am still kicking myself in the butt...

Just to clarify...

I am not buying any of these. If you want them, have at them.

Thanks VolvoGuy! The Hotpoint has a new home!

It was a fun drive (truck troubles) but I managaed to get the machine home and cleaned up. The spin didn't work and it was nasty from not having been used since the mid 80's. The spin issue turned out to be a dislodged off-balance lever. It's an interesting machine with the fill rinses and one spin but seems to do a respectable job. The inlet solenoid is a little noisy but works. Here's a pic of the "before" before they took it down from CL. Man did it clean up. I'm starting a new thread now!

Glad you saved it.

I know how car trouble is. I was driving my roommate's station wagon last week when the brake master cylinder suddenly failed. The brake pedal went right to the floor and nothing happened. It's a great cardiovascular exercise. It gets the heart rate up real high in a big hurry!

belt drive commercial reliability

How did the belt drives do in terms of reliablity on the coin op market?
