Is it just me or does the boy holding the dog have his "goods" on display in those briefs he's wearing?! Okay, get it out of your system on the "Randy's in the gutter" thing - it does stand out (yes I said that) - it's true though. Couldn't believe an ad of that vintage would have something that obvious in it - they would today but back then..... Wow!

OK Randy - and you're looking at that because....? LOL

My comment each time I see that pic come up in rotation is "Ok, by my count, that's 9 kids. Come up with a better hobby already Mom and Dad!".

This post should probably be moved to the Super?

Actually I don't think so

I doubt if anything like that ad would be allowed today at all, they were much more innocent times back then. I had exactly the same thought when I saw some UK Persil ads from the late 1960s. And its probably just as well that you would not see this kind of ad now, although of course the same sort of evils existed back then too.

It may be worth removing such ads from the POD cycle just to be on the safe side

Actually it's the first time I've seen this pic.....

Don't remeber seeing it before - of course everyone will notice now and then dog me for calling attention to it LOL! Well that's part of the uniqueness of this site and it's topic of interest... lots of fun here guys - you never know what you will see or find!

I've never found this ad to be something that would arouse someone. I don't see where this could be deemed sexual or perverted in the least. One must take into consideration that this was a simpler, more innocent time. To think otherwise is giving in to the prevailing sentiment of political correctness. To take it out of the POD rotation would be a shame.

Guys....... wrong assumption here on this POD....

I don't find anything arousing about it - it just seemed unusual for the time in which it was made. I wouldn't call it perverted in any way. Like I said, I expected that I would get dogged by making the statment but don't read anything more into it than what it is - rather unusual or so I thought.

Yes, more innocent time - I was raised in that time with those values and that means much to me these days. Again, IMHO, it just seemed odd for the times.

Oh my, this P.O.D. always elicits a response, lol. I doubt many gave it much thought at that time, as most people just accepted the fact that boys have "equipment". Seems like the past few years guys have been expected to look neutered. Glad to see more guys in tighter jeans lately.

As for the Norge, my cousin Mary had one similar to it. Think she got it when she moved in 65.

THANK GOD!!!

You guys noticed it also. I have noticed it in the past and thought I was the only one, although I once showed it to a friend with a "what's wrong with this picture"? He spotted it immediatly

Funny...

Years ago I had two friends who worked in the advertising department of a store chain called Prange's in Wisconsin. I wouldn't be surprised if some of you remember that store. They are long gone now.

Anyway the adveristing was done out of their corporate office in Green Bay and almost every single week they would get some kind of complaint from someone about the slightest hint of a nipple or the slightest trace of pubic hair or something corny like that. It was exhausting for them because of the extra effort they had to put in to be sure nothing like that was visible.

This particular ad shows much more than that and by today's standards would probably be considered mild child porn or somthing nuts like that.

It just seemed odd to me that's all......

Guess I wasn't expecting it - LOL! We have ladies in the club but a number of guys too and we all have the same equipment and I have no issues with that.... I hadn't seen that partiuclar photo/ad in the rotation to this point - hadn't been around this site long enough to see them all.

At any rate, leave it in the rotation Robert - nothing wrong here just me and my odd thoughts on things! Great site and don't change a thing - let the kid hang out...LOL!!

SEARS CATALOG PORN

combo52's profile picture
Does anyone remember the Sears catalog about 30 years ago that had a young man standing modeling a pair of briefs and his penis was hanging out of his briefs about 1 1/2" on one side?. It created quite a stir at the time I still have it somewhere.

I bet it did cause "quite a stir" in some.

Do I ever remember Prange's! It was a fantastic dept. store to shop at, with a staff that knew what they were talking about. It was "the" upscale store to shop at in Wausau, Penney's was 2nd, then Sears. They had an awesome men's dept., and a cologne counter that was out of this world. Their jewelry dept. was fantastic as well. When they had a sale, it was a blowout. I got my first charge account at Prange's. Their Christmas displays, and the "Trim-A-Tree" seasonal dept. was out of this world! Can you tell that I loved, and still miss this store? It is now a Younker's store, which is part of Carson, Pirie?, Scott. A mere shadow of what Prange's was, to me anyway.

I knew someone would remember it the way I did. I am a housewares freak, and they had a closeout room hidden in the back of the housewares department that few people knew about. Generally, 80% off. Man, I got some good deals there.

Those sales associates really were lifers and good at what they did.

It's too bad.

Yesterday I stopped at an estate sale, and I almost peed myself. I found a 4 knife set of Chicago Cutlery NIB, from Prange's. The original price tag was still on the box, $70. Got it for $15. This thread must have brought me luck! lol

Did you live in Green Bay at one time?
